I've been a passive reader of this forum for quite a while now, and I've come across multiple threads where people claim that they themselves, or some of their friends make/made well over 100k in their low-mid 20s. What sort of positions are making this at that age? I can see some investment banker types doing so, but not much else. So my question is who's making this much money that young, and I just wanted to open it up to see what everyone else makes as well.

I'll start, last year I made 67k salary, + 8k bonus. I am a software engineer at a financial software firm downtown. Last year was my first year out of college, with a bachelors in software engineering.

I make 53K and my wife makes 65K, we are both in the financial industry in Milwaukee. I just got a new job this past Feb and my wife just received a promotion and raise last month. We have been very lucky.

My husband makes $8.50 an hour. I make... whatever is left of my student loans, since I opted for grad school as an alternative to continuing to not find a job.

Don't jump to conclusions. We have bachelors degrees and nothing preventing us from being hired.

I have a buddy who is doing the same thing until the job market turns at least a little in his favor.

I do not believe the poster is asking for intimate details or comic relief. if you are not willing to share useful information, keep going.

Sorry, we didn't realize this is a humor-free zone.

In our society, asking people about their income is considered intrusive and sharing yours without being prompted is considered bad form. What is "useful" about the information he's asking for? If he wants actual, useful regional income data, there are plenty of websites that will provide it.
