The bilingual will help a lot. I'm assuming her other language is Spanish?

The market for teachers in Chicago is very, very tough. However, if she plans on looking to CPS, she may find something. CPS does require Chicago residency, so I hope you don't mind some degree of city-living. I really do think that her ability to speak Spanish will aid in landing a job. If she doesn't mind being a dedicated bilingual teacher, she might be all right.

At any rate, I'd suggest that she heads over to the CPS human resources site and at least gets registered and uploads her resume. She can then look over current positions to get an idea of what's out there. Obviously, August 2010 is a long ways off but you never know how things could change.

Good luck.
