Jesus told us of those who professed His name, and done so called wonderful works in His name, but they are not saved; Jesus did not know them. This shows that "once saved, always saved" is false. Unless you are walking holy as He commands, then you don't belong to the Lord of Hosts.
Matthew 7
[21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
[24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
[25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
[26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
[27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
[28] And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
[29] For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Hmmmmm.... Just goes to show that you never know if you are a professing hellbound Christian or not...
Could think you a fine in one church but visit another and you are hellbound....

Yep. I think the mental torment brought on by a person's lack of assurance about God's goodness and mercy has it's own built in punishment. Somewhere in the scripture it says to the pure, all things are pure. And in another place, it says, "To the perverse, thou shalt show thyself perverse". Also, "as a man thinks in his heart - so is he" (notice it's not as a man thinks in his mind, but in his heart). God sees every person's heart (what the bible calls the hidden man). There is a reason why criminals are always looking over their shoulder.

Go to the whole Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. We can examine ourselves to know whether we are in the truth or not. There's just one truth; you're either in it or you aren't.
2 Corinthians 13:5 - Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

How exactly do you know you are or are not in it? By what magic do you become infallible?

If you have to rationalize or explain away what you know in your heart would be evil or unjust if any of us did it . . . because it is God that is doing it . . . then you are rejecting the guidance of God that resides within. God needs no excuses or rationales or explanations for evil because He does NOT have any evil in Him. If you have to excuse anything to your heart and inner knowing because it is supposedly of God . . .you are deceived and following a false doctrine of men.
