If you're truly gay then, despite what some seem to think, there's not much you can do about it. You can either be yourself and try to honor God, or you can live a lie and try to honor God. Which do you think God would prefer? Does a good parent stop loving his/her child because they turn out to be gay? Of course not. If God is the best parent possible, then it makes no sense that he would send you to hell because of something you can't help.

Since you grew up in a christian home, I do believe that you know that being gay is against God`s plan or else you wouldn`t be posting on here. You will have to come to a conculsion whether to believe God at what He says about it or to not believe in what scripture says about homosexuality.You can`t ride the fence.

Jesus said if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. If we intentionally sin, then we don't love Jesus. Jesus is the Word become flesh. You have already provided scripture (the Word, Jesus) stating that a man can't lay with a man; trying to find loopholes around it is not going to work.

If any of those 5% are practicing homosexuality, then they will go to hell if they die in that rebellion against God. With the love of God in our hearts, all people must resist sin, whether they're homosexual or straight.

James 1
[12] Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
[13] Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Love Never Faileth - that works for gays and straights. Love is just as valid - just don't sleep around and you will be fine.

Do you know for a fact that every word regarding sex has been translated correctly?

Step back and look at what matters to God, every commandment is either against force, or about keeping God number one. As Jesus said Love God and Love your neighbors. Then out of the blue come all of the rules against something as natural as breathing (sex), doesn’t it seem a tiny bit odd? Isn’t it man that has had such a problem with consensual (non-cheating) sex acts of OTHERS for centuries?

Romans 1
[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

That is one of the 10 commandments? Or are you saying there are more laws we should follow.
