What is written comes from the same place from that which is verbally spoken.
Galatians 3:8 The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”
Here we have the scripture announcing the gospel in advance than to no other than Abraham.
John 20:31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Romans 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
For it not be of the written, we would not have what we have to believe, have endurance, encouragement, hope and have life.
And besides... I rejoice in the written word, for I know my name is written in heaven in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Luke 10:20
However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Hebrews 12:23
You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven.
Revelation 21:27
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
RESPONSE:
I always find it interesting that just because a book claims it is the word of God, people believe that it is.
After falling off his bicycle on the way to Damascus (Oregon) and hitting his head, my friend Ralph says he has been inspired by a "revelation" delivered in visions and by hearing voices, and he is now writing a book called the Gospel of Ralph.
The book itself clearly states that it is the word of God, and it reports all sorts of miracles to prove that it is.
Should we believe Ralph without any evidence beyond this?

If not, why not?
Actually, your response is what I would expect and frankly easier to reconcile than it is from a person who speaks from both sides of their mouth who then makes it their business to be a constant fly buzzing around seeing whom he can annoy.
Why not read the Bible first to see if we need any more revelations

This is a perfect example of what the "Bible is the word of God" believers have done. They have substituted the Bible for the Holy Spirit of Christ who is within our consciousness as the Comforter. This is an abomination that is responsible for the corruption of Christ's Gospel of love into the retained "Bad News" of the OT. It is based on an "all or nothing" mentality regarding the inspirations in the Bible. They deamnd acceptance of the God-INSPIRED Bible as a 100% inerrant and infallible rendition of God's direct words. This is not just unreassonable, illogical, and irrational . . . it is patently dangerous to spiritual maturity. The view of God and His nature as revealed by Jesus Christ is unambiguous and completely consistent with a loving God who is, in fact, LOVE. Accepting Christ's revelations as the Word of God and accepting Him as THEWord of God makes perfect sense . . . NOT the entire Bible. That is why we are told to properly divide the scriptures.
The contradictions and irrational depictions in doctrine are the result of the absurd attempts to reconcile Christ's revelations of God with the ignorant, ancient primitive superstitions and savage beliefs about God from the OT. It necessitates that two diametrically opposing views of God somehow be merged . . . resulting in all sorts of absurd and outrageous parodies of God. God is described as a genocidal, jealous, megalomaniacal, schizophrenic . . . but loving . . . masochist with all the maturity and self-control of two-year-old having a temper tantrum. That is no basis upon which to develop spiritual maturity or love of God . . . nor is it a model of holiness to worship.
It strains belief that any sincere spiritually mature adult would seriously consider these heinous descriptions of God and His motives as His Holy infallible writ (Word of God) . . . let alone ever consider them in any way Perfect (mature) and worship-worthy traits!

Awesome expression of truth. I had forgotten I'd ever seen this ridiculous thread before. It must have happened at a time when I was "AWAY" for a while. The title of the thread is, on its face, THE PROBLEM with the churches at large. Satan has been standing in God's throne and screaming blasphemies for centuries. It is the abomination that makes desolate standing in the most Holy Place! Let us see what God shall do about it
Gods breath is His Holy Spirit (Ruach Ha' Kodesh) aka holy spirit, breath, wind or spirit of YHWH. It's all good. I believe hebrew partially defines the holy spirit as gender neutral, but some scholars hold to the belief that Ruach has a female connotation. The further state that in translating from hebrew to greek that the tranlators converted she to he believing that God via Jesus example is "he" thereby the God- head consists of the Father,Son and HolySpirit (mother) not to be confused with a goddess or mariology that religions fumble around with.

All these current OP's have one commonality, the attempt to reject the Bible as God's inspired word and is the absolute truth.
Stop it, Twin . . . no one rejects that the Bible contains God's inspirations . . . we reject the absurd all or nothing nonsense that every word is dictated by God and is infallible . . . or that it ALL applies to us today. It does NOT. It tells us about Christ, how to identify, Him, what His status is, and how to validate Him through prophesy. It also describes the schoolmaster stage of our human spiritual evolution and instruction in the self-control of our baser urges. It was the beginning of wisdom for us using the fear of God and initiated our growth out of our savage and barbaric beliefs about God. By the time of Christ the "fields were ripe for the harvest." The NT contains the life, teachings, death and resurrection (rebirth as Spirit) of Jesus Christ and His unambiguous example and revelations about the True Nature of God. His Gospel removes the fear of death and His commands to "love God and each other" summarize our responsibilities to exercise our evolved self-control over our baser urges out of agape Love . . . NOT fear. Christ is the Living Word of God and abides with us within our consciousness as the Comforter (Holy Spirit) to guide us to what God has "written in our hearts" so we would not need any man to teach us about God.

This and I reject the motive/spirit of his use of the scriptures.

The thing you have to question about the gospel of Ralph is - do you trust it? Do you trust the promises that Ralph offers? Do you believe in Ralph's wisdom? And in the end, what's the point? Gotta read it to find out.
You don't have to believe the Bible. You can believe the gospel of the Ancient Warrior and call yourself a Christian. It won't do you any good in the end.
