So you are not affiliated with any socially recognizable group. Do you house church? I use to do that but then we outgrew the house and bought an old church building. Personally, I loved having our worship services in the house. It was much more intimate.

If you're not in a house church, can I assume you do not attend any worship service anywhere?

Is not belonging to any socially recognizable group common amongst universalists?

Hi Katie, fellowship for me is in the Spirit. In other words, I get edification from those that have it and provide it and well as I share as I have been given myself also.

Katie,

I know I told you via PM I would post in this thread when time allows, but after seeing yet another of my threads removed and considering the rate at which they disappear compared to how little posting I do on this forum, I cannot afford to spend my time here posting what can be removed arbitrarily.

If you want to know pretty much what I believe about Christian Universalism, spend some time reading the many articles and resources at Jesus saves all mankind, the truly Good News, Christian universalism--Ultimate Reconcilation--Doctrine of Inclusion--Restitution of all--glorious gospel--Victorious Gospel of Jesus Christ

If anyone wishes to keep up with me, you can send me a Private Message and perhaps from there we can connect on Facebook or some other place. Also, for those interested, there is a Christian Universalist Group on Facebook -- just look it up.

p.s. The Mercy Me concert was fantastic.

Katie
For them 'destruction' is just a bump on the same path. You face destruction and you keep going. It is very misleading because it implies there is only one road, while the bible teaches there are two paths.

There's no avoiding destruction in this life.

and he who is falling on this stone shall be broken, and on whomsoever it may fall it will crush him to pieces.' Matt 21:44

Unfortunately some of us think we have arrived, believe everything is honky dory because we have said "I believe in Jesus", not understanding there is a work of transformation going on within us, which involves the destruction of the old man, so the new man created in the likeness of God can be revealed.

Love IS the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:10

God IS Love

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

***God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God.

The notion of 'one more opportunity after death' seems to ignore the fact that 'one opportunity per day' for 50-years is about 18,000 opportunities to accept Jesus before one dies! The Bible parable of Lazarus (the beggar) certainly seems to reject this notion ... as does the rest of scripture (eg; ...'each person dies once and then the judgment').
I agree 100% with the bolded.

Katie, one difference I see in mainstream Christianity and Christian Universalism is that mainstream beliefs interject the afterlife into a lot of verses when it's not even mentioned. I think many people who used to believe that way and now believe in UR have seen that many of those verses that we were taught were about hell are really there to teach us about life and how to treat others and about how we need to be living right now.

For example, the verses in Matthew 7 don't mention the afterlife. These verses are talking about life and how we live it, like most of the verses in Matthew 7.
