I don't follow a lot of the big-name preachers/evangelists. However, an obvious one would be Billy Graham.

Now, that's funny. Does Joel Osteen have a "nice" messege ? Sure, he does. Is he Chrasmatic? Asbolutely. But to call him a "great Evangelist" is not accurate. Having a Mega-church doesent' equate with being a soul winner.I think if you ever heard his late dad, John Osteen preach you would clearly see the difference. he was a soul winner, but he also preached the TRUTH with fire and brimstone. I loved that man.

A great Evangelist would be a soul winner and I cannot think of anyone that has led more millions of people to the Lord than Billy Graham.

Back, in the day before all the scandals of the 1980's, I would have said possibly Jimmy Swaggart, Oral Roberts, Robert Tilton, even Benny Hinn of the 90's. The GOSPEL of Savlvation always falls on good ground, irregardless of the source. Some of the messengers may have not stood the test of time but Jesus Christ is the same..yesterday, today and forever.

This is a tough one, because many of these men mentioned have fallen hard in their faith. I don't think Joel Osteen is regarded as a "soul winner."

Other than Billy Graham, his son Franklin, and a few others that aren't necessarilly "influential", they're not in the limelight.. I personally would go back to the middle 20th century and look at men like A.W. Tozer, Leonard Ravenhill, Keith Green (Musician), to name a few.

Of all the people mentioned on this thread, thus far, I would go with Mother Teresa. I'm not Catholic, and she wasn't an evangelist, in the classic sense that most of us think of, but she embodied the ideals of Christ, in a way that no one else mentioned here has, (and some of them don't even come close).
