pcamps, thanks much for your kindness and understanding. You're one of the few truly "Christian" people in here. It appears a simple apology for misunderstanding a Bible verse draws considerably more firestorm and hate than raising a controversy in the first place. Mention that someone as august as Billy Graham couldn't make heads or tails out of Revelation and you get something like, "Well, he wasn't a real scholar of the Bible." I'm sure the Christian community would appreciate that half-baked assessment of his accomplishments over some 70-years of preaching.

Ah, well. The Fundamentalist Corporate Machine is very alive and well in here. Tow the line or be ostracized. Don't question. Don't inquire. Don't think for yourself. It's dangerous. No wonder people stop in here for a few minutes and run screaming into the night, "If that's Christianity I want no part of it".

So much for following after one's heart...Yea, go ahead and do that...
That applied to the heart of primitive savage barbarians!!! God help us . . . will people never understand we are MEANT to be evolving AND spiritually maturing (it can be hard to see it sometimes, granted)? To equate our hearts with those of ancient primitive barbarians and barely human savages . . . (who were capable of burning their own babies alive to appease a God) . . . is madness.

Only when you do not guard it. As well as a way that seems right to man, there is also a lamp that is a light to our feet, there is great peace for them that love is law and nothing shall offend them.

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23

Trust in the Lord with all your heart Proverbs 3:6.

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. Matt 12:35

Which kind of heart did you believe with Richard ?........for with the heart a man believes Romans 10:10. Can a person really believe with the heart you call deceitful. One day you will wake up and understand that calling yourself(your heart, who you really are) deceitful is the source of all your ill's, failure and problems in life. For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he, if you believe you are deceitful, guess what ?, you are.

And when i refer to the heart I am not talking about an organ, but the very essence of who we are.

Well, the Fundamentalist Corporate Machine already preaches its own version of what it believes Christianity should look like----and in reality it looks nothing like what the Bible and Jesus taught us. So, no, I'll look to Jesus as the solution for the world's ills and let the Fundamentalist Corporate Machine's sheeple look to their god of hate and retribution.

Jesus Christ didn't create a religion . He showed us the Way to the Father.

As did the Apostles through their Letters which people seem to want to call Holy Writ...

That is nothing compared to what has happened just in the last hundred years. Your statements are so ridiculous. It is written that in the last days mankind would grow more wicked. Check your recent history.

You are free to think you are little more than a caveman . . . I am not even remotely the same. Our base drives may be the same . . . but our level of control and capacity for agape love as a reason to control are significantly evolved.
