Mitt Romney said Tuesday he has no plans to push for legislation limiting abortion, a softer stance from a candidate who has said he would "get rid of" funding for Planned Parenthood and appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade.

He doesn't plan to limit it, because it it beyond the powers of a president. Bush didn't do anything about it either although he had the House and the Senate behind him. He couldn't, because only the Supreme Court can change it. The whole issue is a political tool to rake in votes, and it works every time.
