"...that they might have life, and have it more abundantly."
So it's just about having your best life now? There are plenty of non-believers that think they're quite happy with life. I personally know people that enjoy life without God.
What part of Satan's answer of "you will not surely die" is good news?
As I said, God is not holding sin against us = Good News.
"...that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.."
Seems more like they are calling God and Jesus and the Apostles all liars.
Ham, that is your opinion -- an unfounded one, as I see it, but you are, of course, welcome to it. It's off topic for this thread, though. The question was not why do Universalists believe as they do, but rather why do they evangelize (share the good news) and why bother.

What do you think abundant life is, Vizio? Those are Jesus' words, you know?
I think the Universalists who come here believe that one front where the good news that God is not holding sins against us is desperately needed is among some Christians who deny that good news. When they share that good news with you who deny it, therefore, they ARE evangelizing.
Indeed. The 'EVE-ANGEL' is the proclamation of GOOD NEWS of GREAT JOY for ALL PEOPLE. That's the meaning of evangelizing. Though many have tried to change it into something bad.

Why not identify where in God's word that comes from and quote the whole passage in context so we can see what is really being said?
Quote:
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2 Cor 5:16-21 (KJV)
Now if the "Good News" is that it's a done deal then why would Paul tell people to "be ye reconciled to God" as if they had any choice in the matter?
Because they still had to accept it!
Why would he say "that we MIGHT be made the righteousness of God in him"?

Exactly Heartsong. The good news also gets better by the days as we grasp a little more of how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ is. Something you cannot grasp when through fear you believe you are saved from eternal torment.
