Why does the WBC choose law over grace? (Gospel, hell, churches)

Romans 6:14 "For sin shall no longer be your master; for you are not under the law but under grace."
According to the westboro Baptist church you must obey God to be reconciled to Him or another words, saved. According to the gospel, we are made righteous by the obedience of Christ, (Romans 5:19) and that we are saved by grace through faith. Under grace, right living is a fruit of right believing. The WBC goes around telling people the opposite message of the gospel which is obey God's law to be saved yet they claim to believe in being saved by the blood of Christ. It seems they have a double standard. Their belief lacks grace. It is a direct result of pride and religion practiced on an extreme measure. How can they not see the error in their ways when the gospel speaks directly against the way they preach?
Note: That's not me in the video in case anyone was wondering.
Well really, the WBC is just a physical manifestation of a lot of what preachers preach in some or even a lot of churches. The WBC just uses a bullhorn, where a lot of other preachers speak softly and play nice music in the background.
Think about it.
"God sees you as a vile sinner, a dirty rag, because...."
"God will send you to hell because...."
There are seemingly not many "churches" that actually preach about God.
Mankind's small tunnel-vision view of God maybe... but not God.
If you're preaching fear, you aren't preaching God.
There is NO fear in Love.
God is love.
God does not hate us.
God is not causing ANYONE to be separated from Him (the source of Love) forever.
ALL will be REunited and REconciled with God. (The SOURCE of Love.)
Anything less would be un-Godly.

It is justthemost extreme example of control; using declarations of sin to to make people conform to their notions of right behavior. Many churches and preachers are all about control. It is diametrically opposed to love.
