Without Jesus, there is no salvation....and yet, there is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church? So.....who is it that saves, Jesus, or the Catholic Church? He clearly stated Jesus saves.
And that------------ the RCC recognizes that others that are not Catholic can also be saved. They go as far as to include those that never knew Christianity through no fault of their own.
I didn't hear what the Monsignor said quite that way, but if I go along with you're interpretation that everyone is saved then there is no reason to remain or become Catholic.

Ahh....the old "anonymous Christian" heresy. No...if you don't place faith in Jesus, you will not be saved. Jesus said it--not me. (John 14:6). A person that is "living a good life" will not be saved without trusting Jesus. The fact is, none of us are able to "live a good life" (Rom 3:23).
