I've been wanting to post this story for some time now. Bare with me because it's three stories with an amazing outcome that involves CD.
1996 I was on my way to jury duty, it was raining, I got a flat tire. Being late I was pushed to the next Jury Duty slot. While waiting for it to start I sat down and started reading a magazine. Two men were in front of me talking about their lives as a Christian and what God meant to them. I was fascinated! I asked one of them a question and 30 minutes later our little group turn into 10 people all sharing their stories. It was one of those moments that you knew you were in the middle of something really special.
All the stories were great but the one that stood out at of all of them was an older man, in his late 50's. He had been with a well known Texas Band and was on the road a lot. One night they were traveling to their next gig and he was on the bus thinking how much his life had changed and not for the better. He really missed going to church and wanted a relationship with God again.
Well, the bus pulled over to tank up and within minutes and Volkswagen Beetle pulled up along side it, a young man got out of the car and stepped into the bus. He boldly asked "Is there anyone on this bus who needs to go to church?" Everyone in the band looked at him like he was crazy but my new friend slowly raised his hand and said "I do."
He then followed him off the bus and into the car. As they were driving to church he asked him "How did you know???" The young man replied "Well, I was on my way to church and God told me, pull over. There's someone on that bus who wants to go to church. So I did!"
My friend, said that was the turning point of his life. He quit the band and he hasn't looked back since.
I knew then I had a flat tire just to hear that man's story.
Now fast forward, about a year ago I was posting on CD and it really hit me that I had to post the story. So I did. The next morning I received a private message. It was from someone who was on the verge of committing suicide the night before. He said that he felt his life was hopeless and was about to kill himself but something told him to search on the internet for God. He came to my story, read it and began crying. He realized how much he needed God and that it was a sign to not commit suicide. I couldn't believe it! That story saved his life.
I just had to share because it's such an amazing story. Who knows who it will help posting it again now!
