In one case, it was a law that prevented special rights being granted to homosexuals. In the other, it was a law defending the definition of marriage. If there wasn't first an attempt by gay advocates to control others, these laws wouldn't have been implemented.

There is no attempt to control gay people there. Get over it. We are tired of the "tolerant" ones telling us we're bigots.

You are a huge discredit to your "profession," Pastor.
Such are the ways of the ardent followers of the aptly-named Matt Slick. They specialize in rudeness, asking meaningless questions as a diversionary tactic and avoiding answering questions if they can't cut and paste the answer from his website. (Something the aptly-named Slick encourages.) The Matt Slick School of Religion is full of..... ummmm..... "special" people.

How are gay advocates attempting to control others? How has your life, in any way, been affected by gay marriage?

For myself, I have had several friends realize their dreams of getting married. My MIL and her long time partner, a couple at work, an old college buddy and his husband, a neighbor couple down the street and another couple who have been long time friends. Some of these people had children and were able to legally adopt, one of them had to use their status as married couple to be permitted visitation rights in the hospital.

How is any of that bad, or how does any of it control you?

How about responding to the NY times article overturning TX law? Doesn't that control gays by criminalizing behaviour?

And yet another cheap, dishonest attempt at discrediting me. I said homosexuality is immoral. Just like an adulterer! *Gasp* Why not actually answer the question raised instead of trying to distract with your silly claims of being offended?

For starters, the attempt to profane the definition of marriage. That affects every person that is married.

But the government cannot profane marriage! If the government is part of it, then it is a civil institution. The religious portion is entirely out of government control. There are already Christian churches who will perform homosexual religious marriages. Gay marriage in law is an entirely civil matter...

The government did not invent marriage.

Sure, each culture has their own traditions. But you can be married in the eyes of a religion and not in the eyes of the law (In fact many gay couples are in this situation already.) The law should be independent of a particular religion. I personally believe that the govenment should replace civil marriage with flexible contract law, but we both know that isn't on anybody's radar at this point. Since we can't do that we should ensure that we give equal treatment under the law, and leave the decision of who God want's to be married to religions. Your church can refuse to "sanctify" such unions, while others will.

No, homosexuality and adultery are not the same.

In adultery a spouse betrays the other spouse by secretly violating a vow of fidelity. Adultery implies deceit, lying, and corruption. The betrayed spouse is damaged and exposed to STDs which can be lethal.

A homosexual relationship between two consenting causes no harm to anyone.
