The decision to not sell that particular flag was made on the fly, when a customer asked for it. Later they made a cake with the flag of a terrorist organization on it. They did not ban flag cakes, they are reserving the right to decide which cakes they make, and which ones they do not. It is not a legal problem unless the customer happens to belong to a "protected class" of people.
You should address those concerns to WallyWorld, and their legal department. Let us know what they say.

No, walmart decided not to sell confederate flag merch of any kind in their stores, that would include cakes.
They could say they can make one with the French flag on it, but not one with a Cuban flag. The Cuban customer might accuse them of hatred and bigotry, like you guys do, but not sure if he has a case.
On the other hand, the Cuban customer could use the LGBT argument that they have special "protected class" rights because of their national origin, and then sue them.

Isn't it nice that they had the legal right to refuse to bake the cake when it contradicted with their views?
Try again, Finn. This thread is not about simple business decisions in ordinary circumstances, it is about our society making laws to prevent and redress the institutional discrimination that has been perpetrated for centuries on certain classes of people by the small-minded and vicious.
I don't think it is a great idea to stand with the small-minded and vicious.

If they do not OFFER Cuban flag cakes then they do not have to sell them to ANYONE. It is not a product that they OFFER.

Yes, they offer custom cakes. They even made one with the flag of a terrorist organization on it. They decide which customers get cakes and which ones do not.
They DO, and because of the recent episodes of violence involving that flag and the horrid prejudice it represents to so many they have made a business decision to ban that particular design, and that has nothing to do with discriminating against one or more of the classes of people who have suffered that institutional discrimination from the small-minded and vicious that this thread is about.
Obviously not confederate flag cakes. I bet they don't do many different custom orders, like cakes with nudity, or offensive material. They have the right to do so. Just like the wedding cake baker can refuse to put two guys on the top of a cake, but they can not refuse a 3 tier white cake with sugar flowers to a gay couple if they offer those cakes in their shop.
Nope. You need to go back and see who came up with the "you can bake your own cake" idea and spit your venom on her.
That would be me. I did not read venom, Finn.
If you wish to have a Confederate Flag cake for your Gay wedding, and you were unable to get a Confederate Flag cake, I gave you simple, and correct instructions for making that happen.
If you wish to bake the Confederate Flag cake yourself at home, that is possible, too. I recommend you have someone else bake the cake. Wedding are so stressful, even the simple ones.
You might even be the first gay man wanting a confederate flag cake for his wedding. I would love an invite to your event to celebrate your wedding.
I am not able to eat the cake, with the flag.
