Believing that the scriptures are the primary source for the teachings of God/Jesus =/= bible worship. You repeat this claim constantly, but it isn't true. I was NEVER taught to worship the Bible when I was growing up in fundamentalist Lutheranism. That would have been considered idolatry! You are simply using a straw-man argument against conservative Protestants. I'm not going to let you get away with it as long as I am an active member of this forum. Your repetition of the lie that conservative Christians worship the bible speaks to your character.



You don't have a lot of love for your spiritual enemies, the conservative Protestants. You constantly put yourself in judgment of them. You are every bit as judgmental as the people you criticize.

In that respect I emulate what Jesus did. Go read your Bible--for a change--the only people He came down upon like a ton of bricks were the Bible quoting Pharisees who used scripture to demean others and justify themselves.

I was what DRob now is--and then I had an experience that changed my life. One I can't describe or explain or defend. But it brought me away from that position (and I had been drifting away for some time) to one of acceptance of everyone EXCEPT those who use the Bible to beat other people over the head.

You cruise these threads for exactly the same reason as fundamentalists--to justify yourself but in your case for your hate of religion, and you are insecure in your own unbelief or you wouldn't have a need to be in someone else's war. A moderate view that accepts parts of Scripture while still seeing the value of scientific discovery is a far greater danger to you, personally, than a god awful religion trying to run your life. Those folks are easy to do battle with.

I cruise it to defend people demeaned by that kind of religion. I don't need to do battle with you because you believe the following-----
