Love is now the new sheriff in town. The OT God tried various methods to get the mortals in line and ALL FAILED. So God realized if the LAW was not enough, all that he had left was love. So he laid it out and said NOW YOU MORTALS HAVE NO EXCUSE. We can no longer claim ignorance of the law, because LOVE is easily accessed. We no longer need legal renderings by chapter and verse to show ourselves approved. We no longer rely on Pharisees to interpret the law nor must we allow the Pharisee to intimidate us with their fancy talk and academic ignorance.
We now have ONE way to access God--that is through Christ. There are NO other intermediaries required to interact with God. LAWS will only convict and LAWS must have a consequence, punishment attached if they are to be effective.
LOVE has no strings, LOVE has no obligation, and above all LOVE has no GUILT.

Yes, really. It had two basic functions and both have been achieved. During the Schoolmaster stage of our species' evolution, it used the fear of God to develop our species' self-control and discipline. By the time of Christ, this had been achieved and the "fields were ripe for harvest." Secondly, the prophecies prepared us to receive the Christ and learn the TRUE NATURE of God and our real purpose . . . agape love using our self-control. Regrettably, Judaism retained the Schoolmaster laws as ends in themselves instead of the means to an end. Judaism also missed the Christ because they were looking at the wrong things for the wrong kind of Messiah . . . a carnal worldly King instead of a Spiritual one. They still are.

Huh??? Duh. The entire human species, you know the ones who were to be blessed with the seed of Abraham.Expecting specificity in the inspired interpretations of a primitive outlining our species SPIRITUAL evolution over such a vast time span would be ludicrous. The highlights are sufficiently informing when you consider that prophecy is ONLY validated after the fact by future events, NOT the ridiculous expectations of people at the time they were given. Christ has more than sufficiently been validated after the fact for over 2000+ years:
From Isaiah 52:15
. . . He shall sprinkle many nations, kings shall shut their mouth at him: For they to whom it was not told of him, have seen; and they that heard not, have beheld. [The entire European continent of nations (and their kings) would seem to validate this prophesy about Christ.]
From Isaiah 55:4
. . . Behold I have given him for a witness to the people, for a leader and master of the gentiles. [The numerous "Gentile" religions based on Christ certainly validates this prophesy.]
From Isaiah 55:5
. . . Behold thou shalt call a nation which thou knewest not; and the nations that knew not thee shall run to thee, because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel, for he hath glorified thee. [The creation of the nation of Israel out of Palestine in 1948 by the "Gentiles" certainly validates this prophesy.]
From Isaiah 60:1
. . . Arise, be enlightened, O Jerusalem: For thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee . . . And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light . . . Then shalt thou see and abound, and thy heart shall wonder and be enlarged, when the multitude of the sea shall be converted to thee, the strength of the Gentiles shall come to thee.[The continued and significant support of the nation of Israel by the "strength" of the United States and other "Gentile" nations seems to cover this one.]
From Matthew 21:42
. . . Did you never read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, has become the corner stone; by the Lord this has been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes?' [Clearly the Jews are the “builders” who rejected Jesus who has, in more ways than one, become the cornerstone!]
SO that we could do WHAT??? Self-control and discipline is a skill that is developed for a reason . . . NOT just to have it. We are to use that discipline to control our baser urges out of agape love for God and each other, as Jesus demonstrated so unambiguously in the face of scourging and crucifixion. It is NOT what God told them to look for. It is what they THOUGHT God was telling them to look for because they focused on the verses that told them what they wanted see. It is only in hindsight that we see which were the actual prophecies and they reveal the true Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

Well, he is certainly talking about Israel here, the Nations seem to run to Israel...

You see no relevance in the fact that Christ is the source of these occurrences, NOT whatever Moshiach you are still expecting????

I think that's a partially flawed view of God in the OT. Virtue love had the same role there as it did the day Jesus was on the cross. The paradigm was different than now, not God's attitude toward humanity.
If God didn't do those judgments, evil would have won the day.
A modern analogy would be if Hitler say ISIS were allowed a free hand to flourish in the BC era near ancient Israel, how would Messiah have been born out from the ancient Jews to fulfill the promises? That's what God had to contend with. That was not the case once Jesus completed His mission.
Except the ancient foes of Israel in many cases made Nazis and ISIS look like girl scouts, that's what we are not grasping properly when we peruse the OT text.
A groundbreaking work on the OT text along these lines is "The Unseen Realm" by Dr. Michael S. Heiser. Excellent research and documentation of references, you will never read the bible the same again after reading it. Way too much of the ancient text has been obfuscated by modern preachers and rabbis because it didn't fit their pre conceived notions.

Fulfilling the law means to interpret it correctly...Killing the law means to interpret it incorrectly...
