It is has been villainized and made illegal for various, nefarious reasons.
Thankfully, public opinion is changing due to the light being shed on it's many therapeutic effects.
The only sin is that is has been used as a WEAPON against people, instead of allowing people to benefit from it.
The only sin is that it has been kept out of the hands of those who need it the most.
Again, thankfully, common sense is starting to prevail.
My biggest question within myself is, am I morally wrong and committing a sin if I were to use medical cannabis?
It is NOT what we put IN us that defiles us, but what we DO in response to what is in our minds. Sin is all about our state of mind, not about the physical world.
As far as it's use... exercise self-control and don't get "drunk" with it's effects.
Yay! At least one mostly fundamentalist here with commonsense in this area not still panicking over Reefer Madness! In my opinion, You are 100% correct. This should be treated no differently from alcohol and those calling it wrong/sinful better cite specific anti-pot bible verses or be 100% against alcohol use..Otherwise their just making themselves look silly and archaic.

I personally think that it would help those who hold to fundamentalist view points to have the ability to think from an open mind instead of their steadfast loyality to their biased beliefs about God.
I know that it would not as what is prescribed is a healing or soothing for your eyes. The sin aspect would be if you sold the Cannabis instead of using it or took a superfluous amount by overmedicating to get a real high.
I am sorry for your condition and other people who have Macular Degeneration as it is frightening that one day one could go blind.
It would not be a sin as the bible states that God said - I give you all the plants .... to use.
Key word, use. If you need it and it helps, nothing wrong with that.
Marijuana use became 'immoral' in these modern times, just within the last 100 years. And it was big industry that made that push.
Heaven forbid that a single plant could be so versatile that it's able to be used for medication, food, textiles and then some....
I would say, if used in excess, anything is bad for you. If you're using to treat a legitimate medical condition, and aren't abusing a substance for personal enjoyment beyond medicating, it's fine. Being a drunkard, or in this case, a pothead, is completely different than partaking in a substance for medicinal use.
