Whew, that was so much easier than typing those 601 words above, and I believe it is more concise and to the point as well.
LOL, yeah.

Jesus did teach repentance also.

This is what Jesus said, although people don't believe Jesus.

Matthew 5

17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven

Does any of this make the tiniest bit of sense to the rational mind? Isn't this just "riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma" type of gibberish to the sane clear-thinking person?

You have to hate your life to lose it,
or is that
"you have to lose your life to hate it"?

This is mystical doublespeak invented by the church, who put these words in Jesus' mouth to confuse low IQ disenfranchised outcasts with nothing to live for to turn to the Bible for some sort of meaning in their lives. It's no coincidence that 95% of convicts who found Jesus found him after they were incarcerated--that once they're out they return to their old way of life and all the prayer in the world doesn't help them an iota to return to Jesus.

Nonsense, as usual. It simply means to make God and His work (loving others) priority.

Is it because LOVE is a four-letter word that evangelical fundies dislike it so??

The scribes and Pharisees had ZERO righteousness, so that is going to be easy...

Tens of thousands of Pharisees believed and Paul was always a Pharisee. Just saying, you are mistaken to think of the word,'' Pharisee,'' as a derogatory name.

Jesus said that they still sit in the seat of Moses and that we should do as they say, but not as some of them did, and that we should keep the law even better than they.

Yes, but why do the authors of the gospels have to cloak such simple ideas in such riddles? if jesus wanted to say "Make loving your Heavenly Father and serving and loving others your priority" why didn't he just say so? Why all this "You must lose your life in order to save it" silliness? This is why so many Christians never read their Bibles--because the whole thing is written in such opaque indecipherable language that the average Christian read a few chapters and just gives up. Proof?

If they do read it, 57 percent only read their Bibles four times a year or less. Only 26 percent of Americans said they read their Bible on a regular basis (four or more times a week).
That means that roughly 25%---nearly a quarter---never open their Bibles once. And you're going to say that only Jesus' sheep hear his voice and follow it???? That leaves out roughly 99% of all Americans according to the statistics. Doesn't sound like Jesus is much of a Good Shepherd to me.

Nonsense (again). The Bible is more accesible than ever and written in everyday language.
