The author of Deuteronomy, whoever that was, said all of those things. Meanwhile, God remains typically mum.
Rabid pro-Yahweh-ist scribes wrote Deuteronomy in 650 BC under orders from King Josiah, who himself was burning and tearing down temples built to Israel's pantheon of gods because he wanted Israel monotheistic and worshipping one god, Yahweh. The scribes conveniently buried the book under a few feet of dirt on the site of the temple being rebuilt and pretended they had unearthed a hitherto unknown book of the Law which stated firmly that Yahweh wanted them worshipping just him and no one else. It's all here:
Josiah Finds The Book of The Law
Quote:
Then Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the Lord.” And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. So Shaphan the scribe went to the king, bringing the king word, saying, “Your servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of those who do the work, who oversee the house of the Lord.” Then Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king. 2 Chronicles 34
Deu 28:15 "But if you will not obey the voice of the LORD your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you.
Deu 28:16 Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field.
Deu 28:17 Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
Deu 28:18 Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.
Deu 28:19 Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
Deu 28:20 "The LORD will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in all that you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken me.
Deu 28:21 The LORD will make the pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
Deu 28:22 The LORD will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought and with blight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish.
Deu 28:23 And the heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth under you shall be iron.
Deu 28:24 The LORD will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed.
Deu 28:25 "The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
Deu 28:26 And your dead body shall be food for all birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away.
Deu 28:27 The LORD will strike you with the boils of Egypt, and with tumors and scabs and itch, of which you cannot be healed.
Deu 28:28 The LORD will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of mind,
Deu 28:29 and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to help you.
This continues to verse 68...........and it doesn't get any better
Whosoever will keep the least of the commandments and also teaches others to keep the commandments will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Every believing Christian or Jew knows with certainly that the book of Deuteronomy represents one of the five books of the Torah, the Pentateuch to Christians, and all five were written by Moses himself. According to Saint Jerome, as well as archbishop Usser, Moses lived circa the 17th century BCE. Modern Jewish scholars place Moses circa the 14th century BCE. The first temple in Jerusalem was built by king Solomon circa the 10th century BCE. The Book of Deuteronomy, which no one even suspected existed prior to it's discovery, was "discovered" hidden in Solomon's temple about 650 BCE as you have indicated.
In other words the document now known as Deuteronomy, and which Christians and Jews believe was perhaps as much as a thousand years old when discovered, lay undiscovered where Moses apparently hid it in Solomon's temple six or seven hundred years before Solomon's temple was even built. Because Moses was just that special. Therefore Deuteronomy represents the indisputable and inerrant Word of God Himself. Because clearly only God could cause a man to hide a book inside a building that would not be built until centuries after that man died, praise the Lord.

I do appreciate your sarcasm, but to avoid the POE effect you should use smileys.
No sarcasm. Believing Christians and Jews really DO declare that Deuteronomy was written by Moses himself. As pointed out, the very existence of Deuteronomy WAS unknown until it was first discovered in Solomon's temple perhaps 1,000 years after Moses lived. These are simple facts. For Moses to have hidden a book inside of a building that would not be built until years after Moses died would have required a genuine miracle. Out of respect to the fact that this IS the Christian forum after all, I even ended my post with a common Christian supplication. Lest I should be found to be offensive.
