One of my best friends told me he believes the sun is hell. I never heard this before, as I naturally thought hell was deep down below somewhere, and the bible says hell is the absolute absence of light and energy. It is a cold, dark, and lonely place, devoid of interaction, friction, or movement. How could the sun be hell?

Much more importantly, why do all the hellfire and brimstone preachers tell us we will burn in the fires of hell?
This space is called Afterlife, or eternity. It's basically the same world you visit when you dream. I think I'm going to elaborate on this in its own thread hold on.
Ok, I think all the responses I got were very strange and foolish both. Please, a Christian person, answer, these are some strange cats that gave me answers here. Please , somebody....

I think the reason you haven't gotten any serious answers from Christians is that nobody knows the answer to this question. Really. God has never said where either Heaven or Hell are. I would agree with you that Hell is a place completely devoid of the glory of God. I think your friend is probably just thinking in terms of some sort of a literal lake of fire (which I don't believe in) and he/she figures the sun would fit the bill. Personally, I think there are a lot more important things to be concerned with.

Please do. I've studied the afterlife quite extensively and the evidence (as it stands) suggests the afterlife is nothing like the Christian version from the Bible with Christians all gathered around the throne of God to bow and worship and sing songs of praise to God for all eternity. Are Christians really looking forward to an eternal backache from all that bowing and scraping?
That alone is enough to drive people away from Christianity.
