Oh yeah, the one that sends me into a frenzy:

Quote:
"God is a God of love

BUT!

God is also a God of righteousness, and his righteousness demands payment for sin in the fire of hell so that his honor is not stained blah blah."

Straight out of 11th century St Anselm's "Handbook For Shearing the Dumb Sheep".

Yeah, or "God-breathed."

Sounds all spiritual-ish. Like that makes it true.

The gangsta rapper Christian version isn't much better either: "Love the Play'a, hate the GAAAMME!"

I have to say though, if it wasn't so badly executed by many fundamentalists, the concept really isn't such a bad thing...I mean while there are many things fundamentalists consider sinful that normal people do not, imagine employing this philosophy without any religious aspects at all and only use what the law considers a sin...in this case, it might actually be more loving and decent than the standard secular model of Criminal Justice but I'd have to think about that more...yeah, it would depend on the situation and crime but who knows..

Buzz words used by Christians
"Fundies are hateful bigots, and they worship books. The authors of the Bible are ignorant savages".

Obviously I do not agree with that, but I hear this a lot on this "Christianity" forum.
