Okay what has been puzzling to me since I joined this forum is the immense hatred to those who keep to a literal, Biblical Christian worldview. Sometimes I seriously need to recheck if this is the "Christianity" forum. The attitudes are very hostile, and the atmosphere imo very negative in general. And ironically the people that proclaim 'agape love', (or refer to Dan & John Ford Coley songs on love), are usually the ones most hostile and impatient towards Bible believing Christians.

So why does the agape love fly out of the door all of a sudden when confronted with other views? Even if other views claim exclusivity, and you don't agree, shouldn't agape love, love them nonetheless?
Why is there a need to keep denegrating faithful Christians as "fundies", bigoted, hateful, small-minded, etc. If agape love is indeed agape (universal and unconditional), then shouldn't that include "fundies"?

Maybe I am wrong, and I am new on the forum, but do others recognise this hostile attitude?

The liberal Christians see conservative Christianity as a recent phenomenon that distorts the "true" message of Christianity that supposedly goes back to the original disciples.

And the conservative Christians see liberal Christianity as a recent phenomenon that distorts the "true" message of Christianity that supposedly goes back to the original disciples.

Naturally, neither group is going to see the other group in a favorable light. Each group believes that the other group is a corrupting influence.

Someone need a hug? Is it time for another great big agape love hug?

C'mere. Come on. Don't make me chase you down to give you a hug.

I will do it. I have a limp. Stand still.

I am hostile to fundies. But I don't promote agape love either, so perhaps you're referring specifically to other Christians.

Fundamentalism is a clear and present danger to the well being of children, especially, and those it marginalizes, like the LGBTQ community.

If fundies had their way, slavery would still exist, interracial marriage would be banned and women wouldn't be allowed to vote.

Most Christians would agree it's a "sin" to teach things that are not true. Most of the bible and the events described therein are not true.

That fundies promote otherwise is wrong. And I intend to point out their wrongness at every opportunity.

I'm on a mission from the real God.

There you go OP. Two replies in and you're already getting a free hug.

Any more complaints? If so, I'm sure Ronkon will give you as many hugs as you need.

Problem is that true Christians from this forum have either left CD or just beat up every time they come here , and then there is a lot of attention to the sexual diverse divisive media attacks of Christians who believe in God , which channels on to this forum ...... Then there is the liberal laws and if crossed would be blaspheme as an offence to people , and many Christians will never change their ideas to the better end ........ Still Agape love is only the love of God and has no value in the world for use , as the highest people who do not know God can go with love is philia love which is loyal brotherly love ....... Then Jesus says take no account , put ought at the feet of God and pray for your enemies ....... See Jesus says to Christians that they will have enemies to pray for , so it is not easy

I am on a mission to give hugs in this thread. I am out of breath as Freak has longer legs than mine. I hope you are blessed with short legs.

Haha thanks ronkon , and everyone for your replies. I just thought a little positivity couldn't hurt the atmosphere.. I'm not exactly out there to kill or hurt anyone, and I think most "fundies" aren't. And @trout you can disagree strongly, I often do aswell, but I try to be civil about it. Even though I sometimes fail horribly.. but constant personal attacks create a really negative atmosphere.. I think we can avoid that.
