Like the scripture says..... peace that passes all understanding.
How did you come to recognize this peace as being from the Christian God and not some other God or simply your own mind?

What brought you to your belief in the reliability of the Scriptures?

What I read about what Jesus Christ in the scriptures had to say about our Heavenly Father resonated within me, brought me peace within, (which I couldn't explain to you even if you did believe me)and taught me to trust and rely on that peace within that passes all understanding.

The mercy of God brought me in Baptism by the work of the Holy Spirit.

Baptism saves 1 Peter 3:21

Baptism is the washing and renewal by the Holy Spirit Titus 3:5
"he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,"
Titus 3:5
It was because of that renewal that was worked in me that naturally lead me to not question the Bible.

Both faith and belief has to be BIGGER than any one individual. Both have to be INDIVIDUALLY applied to life and rarely would it seem possible for any two individuals to have the same FAITH or BELIEF and still be honest and altruistic.

I believe that Iris flowers are the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen, but I do not have faith in them.

Doesn't this presuppose the reliability of the Bible? If you agree, what caused you to presuppose this?

I'll ask you what I asked twin.spin. Doesn't this presuppose the reliability of the Bible? If you agree, what caused you to presuppose this?

Why would it since Titus 3:5 teaches that God the Holy Spirit being the active person in the renewal of the person. And its the same God the Holy Spirit that inspired all of the Bible.

Therefore the two are not separable.
The renewed person by the God the Holy Spirit holds the Bible as the truth which comes from the same God the Holy Spirit.

- Christ Belief: what is my basis?

1.) The bible is The Testaments of men with God and without God.
Before God had Jesus as His Son and After He has Jesus as His Son.

Paul speaks of all scripture being the inspiration of God.
But not all Verses of THE bible are 'scripture'.
As the only time Jesus and His Disciples referred to 'scripture' is when
they were talking about what The Prophets Of God said.

Jesus disciples never thought nor said what they wrote was 'scripture'.
Unless they were referring to what The Prophets Of God said.

So THE bible is not THE Word Of God.
If your not willing to 'Rightly Divide' 'The Word Of Truth'?
Then you'll live under a lot of 'false doctrine'.
And is why ' the church' has.

The bible has some quotes of what God said through His Prophets.
the rest is man's Testimonies of their relationship with God or to God.
Jesus is "THE Word Of God".

- If you can't get past this.

There's no point in me going on from here.

How did you ascertain that the Bible has quotes from God? Faith? Your upbringing?
