The shofar (שופר‎) is a Jewish instrument most often made from a ram’s horn, though it can also be made from the horn of a sheep or goat. It makes a trumpet-like sound and is traditionally blown on Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year.

Origins of the Shofar

According to some scholars, the shofar dates back to ancient times when making loud noises on the New Year was thought to scare off demons and ensure a happy start to the coming year. It is hard to say whether this practice influenced Judaism.

In terms of its Jewish history, the shofar is often mentioned in the Tanakh (the Torah, Nevi'im, and Ketuvim, or Torah, Prophets, and Writings), Talmud, and in rabbinic literature. It was used to announce the start of holidays, in processions, and even to mark the start of a war. Perhaps the most famous biblical reference to the shofar occurs in the Book of Joshua, where shofarot (plural of shofar) were used as part of a battle plan to capture the city of Jericho: - What is a Shofar in Judaism?

A shofar (pron. /ʃoʊˈfɑːr/, from Hebrew: About this sound שׁוֹפָר (help·info), pronounced [ʃoˈfaʁ]) is an ancient musical horn made of ram's horn, used for Jewish religious purposes. Like the modern bugle, the shofar lacks pitch-altering devices. All pitch control is done by varying the player's embouchure. The shofar is blown in synagogue services on Rosh Hashanah and at the very end of Yom Kippur, and is also blown every weekday morning in the month of Elul running up to Rosh Hashanah.[1] Shofars come in a variety of sizes and shapes, depending on the choice of animal and level of finish. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shofar

Revelation is written for every single generation and every generation has had people who have heard those trumpets. They are 7 voices to a person being slowly resurrected, a person who comes up to the feast of trumpets at the house of trumpets.

You hear the trumpet that says,'' AWAKE, AWAKE,'' because you are being awakened with the sounds of the trumpet. There is a million scriptures about this.

Whether it is by the blast of a shofar or the force of a supernatural shout, God's goal is to awaken us! For this reason it is written, "... Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you" Ephesians 5:14 .

Psalm98:6 it is written,"With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout joyfully before the King, the Lord" . The blessing we receive from G-d when we understand the meaning of Rosh HaShanah and the blowing of the trumpet (shofar) is found in Psalm 89:15, as it is written, "How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound .

Isaiah 51:9 it is written, "Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake as in the days of old, the generations of long ago..."

Those trumpets begin to blow on Rosh Hashanah, the day of the awakening blast to which every Christian who was ever born should hear the awakening blast in his own life.

AWAKE to the sound of the house of the blowing of the Trumpets.

I remember these strange sounds happening, and I heard people speaking about them as trumpets but I didn't believe then, and it must be because it didn't happen on Rosh Hashanah. Those trumpets begin to sound on Rosh Hashanah and that is a fact, and so if you could show one of these big Earth sounds happening on Rosh Hashanah, then your case would be proven. If it didn't happen on Rosh Hashanah, then has nothing to do with the trumpets of Revelation because the day is extremely specific.

On every sabbath, there was within the temple a sign on the wall that said, "To the house of the blowing of the trumpet ." Each sabbath, two men with silver trumpets and a man with a shofar made three trumpet blasts twice during the day. On Rosh HaShanah, it is different. The shofar is the primary trumpet. On Rosh HaShanah, a shofar delivers the first blast, a silver trumpet the second, and then a shofar the third. The silver trumpets and the gathering at the temple are specified in the Book of Numbers.

Numbers 10
The Two Silver Trumpets
1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. 3And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 4And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. 5When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. 6When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. 7But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. 8And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. 9And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. 10Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.

YOU hear the trumpets in your own walk, this order of trumpets was made for the walker who walks humbly with his God hearing the sound of the horns that instruct him in his walk.

When you walk with Christ, hear the sound of the trumpet that awakes you and gets you in ready to battle against sin, against darkness and you are hearing the sounds of war in a spiritual war inside yourself.

Ephesians 5

Children of Light
8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth 10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14Wherefore he saith, Awake{HEAR THE SOUND OF THE AWAKENING BLAST} thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Most Christian English Bibles wrongly translate the word shofar as trumpet. The two are dissimilar instruments and have completely different tonalities. The shofar has a traditional Biblical meaning. The trumpet does not.

In Biblical context as well as Jewish tradition, the sounding of the shofar is a call to worship and repentence. This is important to remember if one wishes to understand what is happening today. It is important to understand what God is saying to the people of earth....perhaps for the last time.

Beginning in 2008 a strange sound was heard in the sky by people of the earth. It was initially described as a hum or explosion by those who were not familiar with the sound of a shofar. The sounds were reported by millions of people from every nation and race and language. Reports seem to indicate that the sounds from the sky originated in the middle east and gradually spread across the world to the west and east and north and south from that point. I live in central Florida and personally heard this sound at 3:30 one morning in 2014. To my knowledge, there are no reports of the sound in the sky being heard after 2015. If I am incorrect, I ask the reader to contact me to add to my knowledge of the event.

At this point, I wish to invite the reader to go to YouTube and search for shofar sounds from the sky. Several comparative recordings of a man sounding a real shofar vs. the recordings of the sounds from the sky are available. These recordings serve to provide definition and understanding as to the origin and meaning of the sounds in the sky - and their parallel on earth of a real shofar. The sky sounds really do sound like the shofar that is heard in synagogues at the beginning of each service.

The shofar on earth and the shofar in the sky are a call to worship and repentance. Our entire planet is in rebellion against God. The sounds in the sky are evidence that if men and women do not repent and seek God that a terrible series of devastating events will take place.

It is NOT God's desire to wreck stuff and kill people. Quite the opposite. He has been inhumanly tolerant of our abuse of one another and our refusal to consider His blessings upon us and His desire for life and peace and safety. We have chosen otherwise and God is about to grant us the desires of our hearts. We want war and so we will get a belly full. We want hate of our fellow man, so our minds and hearts will be filled to bursting. We want to turn our back upon God and reject Him. He will remove those who refuse to live the life He has given.

God gave us life and blessings and He can remove them. It is not His wish to do so, but if we continue to refuse to see things His way, or even to acknowledge that He has a just right to demand it of us - then He will act to remove those good things from our eyes and us from the planet. It isn't fair and it isn't what He really wants, but He will not sit by much longer and put up with sin.

The time for judgment has arrived. The first shofar has sounded. Repent. Not much time left.

and that's me, hollering from the choir loft......
This kind of stuff is what makes the skeptics think all of us are crazy. Please just stop it.

Rosh Hashana: starts 3 weeks tonight Viz. Have your windows and ears open. LOL

God's following the feasts, even if no one else is. Just watched Leo Fenton this evening. Very good, showing the pattern of the journey of the children of Israel toward Canaan and the parallels with where the church and individuals are at, moving toward the manifest kingdom of God in their hearts. Get into Canaan folks - there's milk and honey. https://youtu.be/UpZAI6N0zfE

Rosh Hashana, otherwise known as the feast of Trumpets is the Jewish New Year. It comes and goes once a year and has nothing to do with the reported sounds heard in various places around the world.
