This is the big one; this is the one Jesus warned about in Matthew 7:13-27 & Luke 13:24-30 because they broaden the way in the worship place to include the worship of the Holy Spirit with the Father & the Son when it is the Father's will for us to only honor the Son if we seek to honor the Father ( John 5:22-23 ) since the Holy Spirit will not lead believers to speak of Himself in seeking His own glory when He has been sent to dwell within us to speak of the Son in seeking His glory ( John 15:26-27 & John 16:14 ); and by Him, the glory of God the Father, and that includes worship ( John 13:31-32 & Philippians 2:5-11 ).
When believers experience the second phenomenon while honoring the Holy Spirit in worship, and hey get this tongue, that is why so many fall away because even if you KNOW that was not the Holy Spirit, they were honoring or worshiping the Holy Spirit and that happened. The falling away in Thess happened 2000 years ago Poor. We are plainly told about the lawless times and days of this falling away when the lawless son is revealed in people who are lawless.
People are Temples that house the spirit of God as a Priest, but what happens when the person is sitting in his own Temple after he proves God wrong, after he proves that he has risen above God? For a person to disrespect the laws of God and his worship system is the definition of the lawless one who stands against everything called of God is his Torah and everything that is worshipped of God in his 7 appointed feasts, in his Sabbaths. The lawless one has fallen away from Torah and he has fallen away from God's own peculiar ways in that a Messiah has come to not only be a Passover lamb and a Yom Kippur goat, he also came to be a Sukkot bull for the 70 nations.
The lawless one will not respect the Torah, The lawless one sits in his temple and HE PROVES that his word has much more greater authority than the word of God and HE PROVES this fact because he invents his own laws which are against the commandments of God, HE PROVES his lawlessness in that he has rejected the Sabbath and the 7 feasts of God which are appointed visitation days of his son, and the lawless one also rejects God's appointed eighth day where the second rain of Holy spirit is promised to fall on mankind in double portion to what the first Pentecost brought.
You are insinuating that people still have the Holy spirit of Shavuot but this doesn't make any sense when a person claims to have a Holy spirit from a Holy day that they themselves reject and while everyone assumes they have the spirit, name one person who can work in the spirit?
How can you lose a spirit that you never had from a Holy feasts that Christianity doesn't even believe in?
The Holy spirit fell on the people who were counting the omer right up unto the promise and they were sternly warned by Jesus himself to keep praying, to keep performing the traditions of praying and counting the omer as the feasts of Jesus teach. Because they stayed in prayer and the traditions that brought the promise, they received power from on high and they went out from there into every village and city and their works were seen and known BECAUSE they actually had an extraordinary spirit particular the Shavuot, they raised the dead, the blind and deaf were healed, lepers cured and they did greater things than Jesus.
2000 years ago Gentile left the covenant and they called the Torah a strange thing and they rejected the Pentecost that they were claiming a gift from but it may as well be a Hindu claiming the power of Pentecost. You can't claim a power from a feast of Jesus that you don't believe in, a feast which is rejected by Christianity.
Walking in the feasts are a progressive walk to obtain a spirit. You begin by dying daily in the barley harvest sowing your seed and praying for the rain to fall on your seed so that the seed dies and bears fruit. But if you will not die in Passover, why would you think that you would receive the rain? IT takes two to tango in the Passover, YES, YES, Jesus died as a Passover lamb but only that you learn to die every day as a sacrifice so that Jesus can live within you.
But who rejects Passover to then make a claim that they have a Passover lamb? Who rejects the appointed day of marriage to Messiah, and then makes the claim that they are the bride of Christ waiting on the marriage? The feast days are set up to teach a marriage, and we have millions of people claiming to be a betrothed bride to Christ while they are rejecting the marriage contract and all the appointed days set for the bride and bridegroom.
They reject the day appointed for the wedding banquet and then make a wild claim like they are invited.
On Pentecost the law was given and Pentecost is called,'' The first Trump.''

Rosh Hashanah is called,'' The last Trump,'' and this is appointed to name and to show all the betrothed brides to put them in place, their names spoken and written within 3 books on the last Trump of God.
Abraham saw a ram in the thicket and from this ram came two horns. One is called the first Trump, and one is called the last trump.
After the first Trump of betrothal where Israel is betrothed to God, then comes the last trump where the bride receives a seal in her forehead AGAINST THE GREAT TRUMP.
The great Trump is Yom Kippur and all these things concern the betrothed bride and the bridegroom and the birth of the child from the consummation of the bride and bridegroom, exactly when the marriage takes place, exactly when bridegroom comes to consummate the marriage and exactly when and where the marriage supper of the lamb takes place.
From the betrothal/PENTECOST of the bride and bridegroom in the absence of the bridegroom, the bride some how becomes miraculously pregnant as a virgin who has miraculously been found with child having never known her betrothed.
Mankind has two great promises about two great rains and just as the first rain comes and goes, so too does the spirit come and go, but we don't have to guess about this fact, we were told that it would come and go and for 2000 years we have not seen ANYONE who has the power of the Holy spirit given at Pentecost because no matter what anyone says, nobody can walk into a children's cancer unit and do anything good or bad.
The greatest gift ever offered to mankind is Shemini Atzeret, and this is the conclusion day of the fall season where people will receive power from on high but this is promised to be so much greater than Pentecost as to compare the dew to a raging flood.
While Pentecost was a gift and this gift shared from hand to hand, the second rain is not so, you MUST find an extra vessel/person, and YOU MUST know where to buy the oil to fill this vessel so that you may be able to find your way in the dark in order to find that marriage chamber and unless you find an extra vessel, what need of oil would you have? Unless you find that extra vessel, how will you buy oil to fill something you don't have?
You can't buy the Holy spirit, but God has promised the gentiles how to find an extra vessel and exactly where to purchase the oil for that vessel so that you, as a gentile, you have a promise from God to complete requirements so you can become a priest. Why do you want to become a son of oil?
The anointing.
If God appoints you as a priest, this AUTOMATICALLY means that God is going to anoint your head BECAUSE he is GOD'S priest and God will not have his priests unaware. You receive an anointing to learn very fast BUT ONLY AFTER you have performed the duties of a priest and brought up his designated offering they he will accept so that he will call you his priest, and he will put the anointing on you as a son of oil.
But what does all this have to do with Christians who reject the 7 feasts of God?
Nothing.
Receiving the anointing and running the race to receive the promised spirit of God is a progressive walk that one does in the appointed mission days of Christ when he is appointed to visit his bride 7 times.
You are given one week as 7 days, as 7 years that is made up of 42 months in the spring and dying daily until you make a transition to symbolically go all the way to death on Rosh Hashanah, and then you finish your 7 years by walking 3 and a half years in the fall holy days which depict the second coming of Christ IN YOU.
But if you reject the spring Holy days, you reject it's gifts and instructions for the bride and why would you claim a gift from a thing that Christianity rejects? If you have rejected the instruction how to walk a 7 year progressive plan of God, how will you ever begin to make a transition from one season to the next, from one rain to a flood?
When God has come and given his brides a double portion of spirit so powerful as to let a person fly, what will you think and say when you see people indwelled with such power and you yourself with none?
Of all the things that Christians reject, Shemini Atzeret is the most unfortunate thing.

Jesus gives us the greatest promise of all the history of mankind that men will become like God, they will become like the angel of the Lord who stands before the throne with supreme power with no limitations and Christian spit on it.
If people today had any idea what they are rejecting, they would weep and gnash their teeth because the rejection of the feast of Tabernacles means that you will not receive the rain to fall upon your seed so that it dies and bears fruit and this is particular to your promised transformed body.
How does somebody hear such great promises and rewards to then reject it saying,'' NO, NO Jesus, we wont keep your feasts and Holy days, we don't want your powerful spirit of Tabernacles, we don't want your rain to fall on our seed.''
That is what is taking place whether we speak of the first rain or the second and while millions will claim to have the first rain, they have no evidence of it whatsoever and this was not true with the first disciples. EVERYWHERE they went, their works were seen, and their works were so extreme and wonderful that everyone started believing BECAUSE they believed in the power they saw with their own eyes.
For 2000 years, Christianity has been converted away from the feasts that actually give the gifts of the Holy spirit and it is quite astonishing to see people claiming a spirit from a feast they reject.
This falling away is exactly what Thessalonians talks about, the lawless days to come where EVERYONE sits in their temple standing against God and everything that is called of God or that is worshipped in proving their word to be above God's word, they reject the very idea of Shavuot to then make the bold claim that they are indwelled with power from on high, from a feast they don't believe in.
This is bad enough, but O how people will wail when they have seen actual people indwelled from the promise of the second rain while they receive nothing because of the fact that they would not watch or even accept the feasts that give these promised gifts.
The second rain will not be shared like the first outpouring of spirit and OF COURSE it should not be. These people will be indwelled with such a powerful spirit, why would God give this promise to people who will not even accept his appointed feasts for his own son and sons to be?
It is a bold claim to say that you have power from on high when people reject the very thing that would offer power.
Christ said I WILL SEND THE HOLY SPIRIT..he also said I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU.....he also said LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORS!!

By your quoting Christ; if He will never leave you, do you ask Him to come as if He had left you? If you want others to see your light of Christ in you, and that you believe that He will never leave you, then you would not be asking for the Holy Spirit to come if He is already within you & will never leave you either.
Using scripture is the only way to reprove any one saying other than what you are saying.
They say there is another hope of our calling and you say.. no.. Christ will never leave you.

The falling away in Thess happened 2000 years ago Poor. We are plainly told about the lawless times and days of this falling away when the lawless son is revealed in people who are lawless.
Thank you for sharing, but if your p.o.v. is based on another Bible version, then we have to start at the precedent from which your reply is based on, comparing your version to the KJV.

The KJV has man of sin whereas the rest of the versions has man of lawlessness in verse 3.
The KJV has iniquity whereas the rest of the versions has reference to that mystery of iniquity whereas the other versions has it as a mystery of lawlessness in verse 7.
The problem here is the modern Bibles terms will always take you to reading the scripture by the false teachings that christians are under the deeds of the law and must hereby practice them or be lawless; hence usually a means to get christians to keep the sabbath day holy and all that bluster. Not sure you are of that mentality, but they ahve been known to take that slant with the reading of the scriptures.
Unfortunately, that is not what the falling away from the faith is about. This is about the iniquity where believers think they are receiving the Holy Spirit again otherwise Paul would not be reminding them wen they had received the sanctification of the Spirit and the belief of the truth at the hearing of the Gospel in verse 13-15 of 2 Thessalonains 2nd chapter.
Indeed, the point of verse 7 clarifies tow points of contentions between us;
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
#1. Just because the iniquity was already at work; Paul was not testifying that it was in his time that the falling away from the faith was occurring when it is yet to be in the future in mass droves.
#2. The mystery of this iniquity is new age mentality when a believer believes the lie that they can receive the Holy Spirit with evidence of tongues even, God will permit that strong delusion to occur; the restrainer will be taken out of the way. This does not mean they do not have the Holy Spirit any more, but if saved believers invite other spirits in by denying He is in them, then God will permit it to occur.
So again; it is about the gospel in how we are saved and when we had received Him at our salvation. It is not about lawlessness as if everything is about keeping the sabbath day, because Paul would have deferred to that point as opposing the lawlessness rather than reminding believers when they had received the Holy Spirit the first & only time.
So it pays to stick with the KJV, because the message for our discernment has been lost in modern Bibles as keeping the faith is the good fight; not keeping the law or the sabbath day or whatever..

For the readers; Another reason why you should only rely on the King James Bible as the NIV, NASB, & ESV have verses that can aid this apostasy of seeking righteousness by the deeds of the law of keeping the sabbath day. The use of the term " lawlessness " in the NIV, NASB, & ESV is not the correct term to be used in 2 Thessalonians 2nd chapter as the mystery of iniquity is about opening yourselves up to receiving the Holy Spirit again long after you had received the sanctification of the Spirit and the love of the truth by the hearing of the gospel.
As it is, the majority of the modern Bibles is why Hannibal Flavius reads 2 Thessalonians 2nd chapter as being about the keeping of the sabbath day than what Paul was actually talking about when he needed to remind believers how they had received the sanctification of the Spirit and the belief of the truth at the hearing of the gospel so that they KNOW there is no receiving the Holy Spirit again after a sign so that they can resist and reject these seducing spirits coming over them that bring tongues without interpretation.
No one can decide where God is or is not. That is not within our purview.
We can not limit the Holy Spirit's comings and goings. That is absolutely presumptuous.
1 John 4:1-7 testifies to where the Holy Spirit is and where He is not; because where He is not is where the spirit of the antichrist is so we can know which spirit is the Holy Spirit.
There is no need for the Holy Spirit to be outside of you when He is in you. You cannot get closer to God than that.
And yet saved believers say in hypocrisy that He is in them and yet seek to receive Him again when the very action denies Him as being in them.
You cannot receive someone in your house if they have already been received. Do you keep looking outside for that person when he is already in your house? No.
The point is keeping the faith which is the good fight. If you say Jesus Christ is in you, then you cannot turn around and say.. hey.. the Holy Spirit is not limited; you can keep on receiving Him because ....?

Because the Holy Spirit is always leaving you? Is that what you want to say by not limiting the Spirit?
So there is a limit on the Spirit, and it is that limit that makes Him the Comforter for He is in us and with us always & will never leave us because He is our seal of adoption. Anything else is deferring from that reality in Christ Jesus.
So our words either mean what we say in reflecting our faith or we are just following the crowd, and not realizing the hypocrisy in our words and in our supernatural experiences that are not of Him at all in according to His words.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
You cannot know the Holy Spirit outside of you where the spirit of the antichrist dwells. Jesus said this for a reason so that you may know the real Holy Spirit as the Comforter as being in you. So rest in Jesus Christ that He, the Father, and the Holy Ghost is in you and chase no more after seducing spirits to receive after a sign otherwise, you are departing from faith and forgetting your first love & your rest in Him by denying that He is in us and is with us always and cannot be received again for any other reason.
