Are you implying people do not want to be immersed in baptism? I didn't understand your point, Ozzy. thanks.
There is just so much positive scripture related to Baptism. It seems that if a certain belief system caused you to avoid it, then we might want to look at that belief system a little more critically.
Another thing, how come no one ever mentions *Peter* walking on water. He walked on water for a few moments with that particular Jesus, while he believed in the supernatural Jesus. But as soon as he thought rationally, he went under and was fully immersed.
Another thing about Peter. The epistle of Peter states that the "flood" of Noah's time represented baptism. Which means that Noah also avoided immersion in his safe little faith cocoon. Just something to think about. Because Peter seems to be saying that Noah should have been baptized, but that he wasn't.
And if the global flood represented baptism, one can only conclude that the planet represented the human brain.

Seclude yourself in a remote cave for three years.
Spend most of your time practicing breathing exercises and chanting Buddhist mantras.
Practice leaping upward from a cross-legged sitting position without using your hands. Repeat ad infinitum.
Return to the world three years later, light as a feather, in a heightened state of consciousness.
It is said, that lung-gom-pa trainees where chained to the floor from around waist, with chain long enough to stop them from smashing their heads into the cave pillar during abrupt ascent.
One of the first signs of person in deep meditation is feeling of lightness.
Trained meditator and one that controls his chi, can move it into upper section of the physical body, thus greatly reducing or nullifying completely pressure body produces onto earth or water. Thus lightened body can use water surace sufficiently to stay atop of it.
I mentioned Peter...of course, he is a huge part of the equation.

-When he called Peter...was it to show how ONE second of doubt or lack of focus can sink us? Sure.
-Could it have been for the others to follow in Peter's footsteps, showing Peter's incredible faith? Sure.
I gave a list of possible purposes for Jesus to walk on water, 8/1...I do not believe it was as
simple as to show who he was...lots more goin' on there ....
lots in every message and action of Jesus'....for the inquiring mind.
