What jimmiej seems to have a hard time realizing is that the faith is about the love that God IS. "Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God."
So if you know how to love, and do love....you are "born of God?and "know God"?
Then why do so many people that DO love and give of themselves not believe?

I have no problem with that, but how can a person please God, who does not even acknowledge His existence? Do you believe the writer of Hebrews is incorrect?

to me it seems like you've given the name God to the word love.
6 Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
We are good--and we please God--when our hope and faith are in Christ alone, not in our goodness.
