‘Outsider Pope’ faces resistance as he tries to reform the Church, author says
Charles Collins Apr 29, 2020

https://cruxnow.com/vatican/2020/03/...e-next-decade/

At the heart of Pope Francis’ teachings on reform, the care for the poor and for creation are the principles of discernment and listening established by St. Ignatius of Loyola, said Jesuit Father Arturo Sosa.
In an article published by the Jesuit journal La Civilta Cattolica March 5, Sosa, superior general of the Jesuits, reflected on the pope’s approval of the order’s “universal apostolic preferences” in February 2019.
The preferences, which he said will guide the mission of the Jesuits for the next 10 years, are: “to show the way to God through discernment and the spiritual exercises; to walk with the poor, the outcasts of the world, those whose dignity has been violated, in a mission of reconciliation and justice; to accompany young people in the creation of a hope-filled future; to collaborate in the care of our common home.”

“To reform institutions, it is necessary to reform the hearts of those who govern it,” Sosa wrote.

That, in my opinion, is a positively brilliant statement.

Default Pope Francis indicates support for same-sex civil unions

It appears the church is changing due to the evolution with society perception of gay people. Sure it is not gay marriage, but it is a major shift of policy regarding sexuality for the Catholic Church.

Pope Francis has said that he thinks same-sex couples should be allowed to have "civil unions".

He made the comments, which observers say are his clearest remarks yet on gay relationships, in a documentary directed by Evgeny Afineevsky.

"Homosexual people have a right to be in a family," he said in the film, which premiered on Wednesday.

"They are children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out or made miserable over it.

"What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered."https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54627625

Frankie is trying to marry the church with reality.

It's a Herculean task and he won't live long enough to see it through.

But like a farmer, he has planted the seeds from which he hopes that reality will emerge.

The Pope is a member of the Jesuits. There are Jesuits that are gay affirming out there now. Some are now openly gay and have blessed same sex couples and even gone as far as marrying same sex couples. This practice has happened for quite awhile now.

Yet this latest incident will divide the Catholic church worldwide, just as the Anglican Church worldwide is divided on that topic.

Those who condemn same-sex love are spiritually retarded.

They are carnally-minded not spiritually-minded. They simply do not realize they are Spirit beings in physical vessels, not physical beings. When two Spirits love it doesn't matter what physical vessels they occupy.
