I hope it helps me see something that I don't know if I can articulate.

See, I've learned here on CD that a lot of people's biggest problem with Christianity is Christians and the 'machine' that is the organized religion.

I believe...I truly hope....this book helps me peel back the layers on what we see and call 'church' to see what HE intended church to look like.

I want to see the New Testament church. How it operated. What it looked like. What the real deal looks like, if you will.

I have a feeling that when I am done I will see that I have never really been to church. (That is if I agree with the authors views.)

Sounds really interesting to me. Going to order it now. Count me in! Love a good study when it comes to a deeper truth of the Lord and the church.

Blessings

Excellent! You guys let me know when your books come in and we'll begin.

Should we read sections and discuss?

Read the whole thing and discuss at the end?

I personally think (after looking at the table of contents) that a discussion 'as we go' would be pretty interesting. I'll check my book when possible but there may even be study questions at the end of each section.

Will that work? Thoughts?

I like discussion as we go, personally. I feel like to much gets lost when you read the whole thing and then discuss it. But that's just me, I vote for that but will participate regardless Thanks for doing this Alpha!

I'd like to participate but I've got a stack of about five books that I'm falling behind on as it is I just haven't had any time to read or do much of anything lately, so maybe if I get some down time I'll burn through some of the ones that have been piling up and I'll get in on this. I'll probably be pretty late though... At least it'll give me a chance to see if it's worth ordering or not...

Alpha, my ancient mind doesn't hold a lot of knowledge for a long time..I think discussion as we go along would keep us all on the same subject..You are trhe only one with the book now so I imagine the best way to discuss it would be topic by topic according to the content page..If it has discussion questions that is great too.

June is good to go. Ordered the book.

June just loves one-stop-shopping!

P.S. Hey Alpha! Does this mean that there's hope of June getting YOU to read Maslow and/or William James?
-just kidding. I think...
