Does anyone have a recommendation on how to explain the second coming of Christ to a nine year old? My daughter has many questions and I'm not sure how to explain it to her at a kid's level. I have had to reassure her that Jesus will not be crucified again. She's very concerned about that. Any insight would be helpful.

Hey Little Bro! What about the Left Behind books for kids? I'm not sure what age they are written for. Just reassure her she had nothing to fear, it will be a glorious time for all Christians.

Thanks ILNC, I'll have to look into that option. She loves reading so this might be a good time for us to read together. I've not read the books, but did see the movies. I know, I'm a bad, bad Christian.

Thanks again!

Hoosier,
Just tell her that the Jesus' second coming will be one of relief for the Christian. We have nothing to fear since God is in control of all things and will end the world when the word is preached in all the world.

Best to read the Bible with her,

For Christ died for sins once for all 1 Peter 3:18

Tell her that when Jesus comes nobody will be "left behind"

When the Son of Man (Jesus) comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him.... Matthew 25:31-32

As far as "left behind" books, best to "leave them behind" where they belong... in the garbage. The millennium teaching has never been scriptural, there are no 2 second comings of Christ.

I've read a few and thought they were right on with the Bible.

We'd have to start a new thread to get into it. The whole foundation of who is raptured (caught up) is built on sand -quicksand in fact.

godspeed,
