Depends on how similar the denominations are. I've been to an independent fundamentalist Baptist church in West Virginia, a Southern Baptist church in Louisiana and a non-denomination church in Louisiana and they were very similar in terms of theology and worship style.
A cousin's son in upstate Georgia is Methodist and ordained not long ago. With the senior pastor being young his son wonders about his chances to become a senior pastor some day. He'd like to stay Methodist if he could but open to other denominations. Thanks.
How can a preacher go from one doctrine to another contradictory doctrine if they switch denominations? One says something is absolutely essential for salvation and another denomination says that particular thing is not essential to salvation. How does this effect people who jump around like this?

And yet there must be differences between them. Who are we to say which differences matter and which ones don't?

It serves them right for arrogantly thinking we have anything to do with our salvation. It is ALL Jesus and it is finished!

As far as jumping around it's most likely for a 1-2 long time periods. A young assistant pastor serving a church and as they look into the future they don't see must chance of advancement since the senior pastor is relatively young themselves. Do most assistant pastors want to retire as an assistant?
I think this is correct but don't quote me. I think Presbyterians have come to tolerate same sex marriages and other denominations do not. I think Church of God prohibit female pastors where other denominations allow qualified females to serve.
Can the church Jesus actually died for be divided into so many contradicting doctrines? What does the Bible say about this matter???
Does the Bible say to be of the same mind or everbody be of a different mind? 1 cor. 1:10
Off topic. Denominations exist. Wonderful discussion for another thread, but unhelpful to the OP.
