List of things to compare: how Moses/Joshua's account is similar to Jesus. These are just a few but there are more similarities to Moses/Joshua and Jesus.

Moses: Turned water into blood. Exodus 7:14-25
Jesus: Turned water into wine. John 2:1-11

Moses: Brought hail upon the land, controlling the sky. Exodus 9:13-35
Jesus: Calmed the storm, controlling the sky. Mark 4:35-41

Moses: Parts the Red Sea. Exodus 14
Jesus: Walks on water. Matthew 14:22-33

Moses: Brought Quail and Manna. Exodus 16
Jesus: Multiplied Fish and Bread. Matthew 14:13-21

Moses: was transfigured after Mount Sinai. Exodus 34:29-35
Jesus: was transfigured on a Mountain. Luke 9:28-36

Moses: Offer of Life or Death Deuteronomy 30:11-20
Jesus: Offer of Life or Death John 14, 15, well, various chapters in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Moses: and the people wandered the desert for 40 years.
Jesus: (he said he is with us till the end - Matthew 28:20) and the people have been wandering the desert for ~2000 years. Maybe its hard for people to accept Jesus because this is in the future?

Moses: People rebelled against God and Moses and they died, e.g., Korah. Numbers 16
Jesus: ahem, ahem! Do we have Korahs now who rebel against God and Jesus? Do we have the plagues that killed Korah? ahem! ahem!

Moses: intercedes. Exodus 32:30-33 and Number 16:46-50 (continuation of Korah's account)
Jesus: intercedes. Luke 23:34

Moses: showed the promise land then he was taken up. Deuteronomy 34
Jesus: showed the promise land (inc. the resurrections of the dead) and then was taken up. Last few chapters of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Joshua: took the Jews to the promise land crossing the Jordan. Joshua 3
Jesus: will take all to the promise land. as it is future tense, the doubt of many! Revelation 19:11-21.

Moses: took people out of Slavery from Egypt.
Jesus: is still gathering (for a little while longer) people among NATIONS and Languages and Cultures etc.

Moses: gave the law to live.
Jesus: showed how to live in the law.

Eventually, the "promise land" for all (Jews and Gentiles) is Jerusalem. The Holy Land that God chose "in the beginning". The place where the Garden of Eden was for the people of God.

Peace to you Jerusalem! We all who are called in the Name of the Lord say, Peace to you!

No. Jesus showed how to live in love. He clearly ran into problems with the biggest promoters of the law, i.e. the Pharisees. The law and legalism is often devoid of love, as he showed vividly.

If you take a deeper look, all the law falls either under love your God or love your neighbor. So he did show how to live the law making those 2 as the greatest as all the law and the prophets fall under one of them.

Say for an example, do not steal covet or murder will fall under love thy neighbour.inc the levitical laws

I could add to this a lot, Jesus had to come repeating what Moses did.

Yes, there are so many similarities and CD won't be enough! Lol

In Deuteronomy 18:15, Moses declares, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen.

That's about Jesus as there were no other prophet like him.

Not just as the prophet like Moses, but also of Adam, of Joseph, and of David.

Jesus repeated the events Adam in the garden, he had to repeat the events surrounding Joseph, the events of David, and the events of David.

Adam was lain down in a sleep of death where a bride was taken from his own body where he became a husband inside his bride, same as Jesus. When God came looking for Adam, Adam hid and was afraid, but when mankind came looking for Jesus in the garden he said," Here I am," and everyone hit the ground in fear.

Joseph was rejected by all his brethren, tossed into a pit wherein was no water/hell. Then Joseph was sold into the Gentile nations where he became co ruler over the Gentiles Like Jesus within us all.

All that time the brethren of Joseph presumed him to be dead just like is believed of Jesus right now by his family.

The same ending of the story of Joseph will also come to Jesus.

This is the great " Face To Face." (Rosh Hashanah~The great face to face promised and anticipated)

A promise to all of Judah and Israel when all are gathered before him not knowing who he is until it is revealed to them by Joseph himself, and then the entire family weeps and weeps because of their reunion.

The family of Joseph were then appointed to be the official shepherds over the entire land and they chose out any land they wanted because they were Joseph's brethren.

Jesus not only had to come as son of David repeating what David had done, he also had to come as son of Joseph repeating what Joseph had done.

A prophesy of Ephraim, son of Joseph.

Hosea
1When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.....
.....8How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel?

See the prophesy is of Ephraim/Israel.

It has nothing to do with Jews or the Jewish nation.

Matthew
When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: 15And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

In showing the fulfilled prophesy of Ephraim, Matthew is telling us outright that Jesus was son of Joseph," Israel/Ephraim."

Jesus was son of Joseph and his father could have no other name because Joseph is the body in that if Jesus was born a human, he was born son of Joseph.

Jesus had to be son of Joseph by flesh, and son of David by spirit and flesh

The question," Who is the beloved of both Joseph and David?

Benjamin.

None shall see the Lord lest they produce Benjamin first.

Benjamin is the only true brother of Joseph amongst all the brethren but the mother of Benjamin must certainly die to give birth to Benjamin.

Jerusalem is built in Benjamin who is the only tribe is all the 12 that was within both nations, in the nation of Israel, and in the nation of Judah. This is the great city between the two kingdoms of flesh and spirit where both kings should have come up to worship the Lord as one people.

The beloved of Joseph is his little brother and Joseph demands to see his own brother.

Joseph loved Benjamin with a love different from all his other brethren and their mother had died in birthing him.

Before the brethren of Joseph knew Joseph was their brother they thought Benjamin was doomed, but one brother came in and traded his own life for Benjamin.

This is why Benjamin was a part of both nations and why Jerusalem is situated between the kingdoms in the land of Benjamin. Benjamin is the key to uniting both kingdoms under a single leader.

David had a love so strong with Jonathon that his love for him was greater than that of women.

Jonathon of Benjamin, the beloved.

Then came son of David and son of Joseph and his beloved, " John, who rests in the bottom of his beloved. "

Luke
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;(using the word bosom is directing us)

Resting on the bosom at a certain feast is a practice done for thousands of years.

Deuteronomy
And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

The bosom between the two kingdoms.

John
Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Because it was written that John reclined on Jesus bosom it was directly referring us to the beloved of the Lord," Benjamin."

Benjamin is the soul of a person between two kingdoms opposed to each other as flesh is opposed to spirit.

There should not be two kingdoms, two peoples.

When Moses brought Israel out of Egypt, it wasn't one people, it was two peoples, in fact, a mixed multitude of Gentiles and Israelis.

Moses brought the two peoples up to the mountain of the Lord to make them one people unique to the Lord.

Like Moses, Jesus came to make a covenant with Israel and Judah to make them one people.

First 700 years one of those nations became known as the ten lost tribes.

Jews of Judah were there in the millions, but where were the lost sheep of the house of Israel Jesus came to unite with the millions of Jews?

That was Jesus doing the same work Moses did.

Jesus only came as the messenger of the covenant just as Moses was the messenger.

Wonder where the lost sheep of the house of Israel are now?

Where are the tents of Joseph?

Jews in the millions and Joseph nowhere to be found.

Something very interesting is Moses wasn't allowed to bring the people into the promised land. Yet it was Joshua who led the people in. Joshua's original name was Hoshea, which means salvation. It was Moses who began calling him Joshua, in Hebrew pronounced "Yehoshua", meaning "The Lord is Salvation". So Joshua was clearly a picture of Jesus, which is ultimately the same name and meaning.

Moses represented the Law. Moses was the law giver and as we know, none of us can keep it. As a result of that, the generation of Israel who said they were well able to keep God's laws, failed to do so and even rebelled against God after the 12 spies incident. God said in His heart none of that generation would enter the promise land. Yet it was through Joshua, who's name again mean "Yahweh is Salvation", the younger generation was able to enter into the promise.

Anyone who thinks they can fulfill the Law on their own strength, will only end up rebelling against God in the end. Yet if you receive God's strength and salvation, you will inherit all His promises!!!

Being that the Lord (pre-incarnate) was calling the shots for Moses - it's not surprising that there are numerous similarities.

Good list that you compiled...

Yep - better understood as Typology!

All three also presented Stone(s) - witnesses to the Word of the Lord !

rjack567 - a challenge for you - can you find the verses that demonstrate the above?
