After someone told me what was being passed around as truth about me by some of the fellows who hang out around the junction where there's a gas station in our little town, I asked God, "What should I think about it?" His immediate answer was, "That's how they know Me."
Christians being openly mocked is Biblically fulfilled prophesy. It's open season on Christians and as such, really stretches my faith. Often, I want to lash out and tell people off, and sometimes I do, but usually the Holy Spirit is a great convicter and reminds me that God is my defender. Our whole faith is based on paradoxes, i.e. everything that we're supposed to do, according to his word, is completely opposite of what we want to do, according to our flesh. It's pretty awesome, and really just reinforces the fact that God wants us to trust in him in everything. God is so good.
How would you deal with those who make you the laughing stock of others around you, just because of your faith/right to thought, considering that you did the latter no harm?
Also, how would you reconcile with the secondary and tertiary others who cascade into the mock fest?
It all depends. If I were a believer in eternal torment I would take such ones that make fun of me due to my faith and burn them at the stake. After all, if God can burn them, so can I. We are told to be just like our heavenly Father, aren't we? This was bloody Queen Mary's rational for burning people at the stake.
If I am a believer in the truth of God saving all mankind (1 Tim.2:4-6; 4:10,11) I would feel really badly about their treatment of me but I would try to reconcile with them since we are to be like our heavenly Father and He too is going to reconcile with all His enemies.
