I learned about Dr. Young a couple of weeks ago and am wondering if anyone here follows him. I had posted this on another thread, but didn't get a response. So if you are a follower, can you give me your interpretation of what Dr. Young means by this statement:
In his series, Love is a Many Splendored Thing, and from the video: All You Need Is Love at 20:53.
"In Romans 5:5, Jesus said that God so loves you and so loves me that by the Holy Spirit he pours his love into your heart and he pours love into my heart. For that's the answer isn't it?"
I have listened to Ed young awhile back on Satilite tv....and have now heard him on radio recently. I am challenged by his messages and have been stirred by his speaking...to be battlefield commanders. If I pray an hour for 4 people...the Lord will put those persons in my path. He wants to show us His work and miracles...and strengthen our faith...and to deeply love others. Follow Jesus...stay in His grip. It is good to pray for what you will hear, read, recieve and give....for the path.

Thanks for your response. I get it that you don't understand what he is saying... that God pours his love into your heart and my heart. This is the first time I've ever heard this coming from a Christian minister and when I heard it, of course, I was pleased... as the love he's referring to is God's Divine Love.... and, yes, it's all we need. God bless you on your path of love.
I listened carefully to every word of the sermon in the video. I agree with the central message the minister was preaching, which was based on Cor.13.
I'm not disagreeing with the minister, but will point out that we should be careful in decideing what love is. For example, was the little girl really justified in dumping the fish bowl? Yes it did get the boy out of his dilemma. Yes it did show elements of love on the girls part. But is it ok to violate rules in order to help someone else? For example, would it be ok to lie so as to help someone get out of trouble? No, because telling a lie does not show love for GOD. We must remember that if we love GOD we will obey His commandments. We will help others, but never at the sacrifice of disobeying GOD. In effect the girl fabricated a lie. The minister should have chosen a better example than that to use in the sermon. Also we should never shun spiritual gifts, because Paul was not against them. He was only pointing out that all we do must be done in love.

I think he's excellent! He did a marriage talk and it was both great - he can be so funny, too.
