I ws shocked to find out what that statue was made of. I always thought it was made of marble or some similar material.

I just read on one of the local news sites that they are going to be asking for donations to help rebuild. Wonder why it wasn't insured?

I thought it was made of concrete or something similar. Apparently it was just a lightening rod covered in foam.

Well, at least now we know that God has good taste.

I can't wait to see them rebuild it, totally ignoring what is perhaps the clearest divine message they will ever be sent in their entire lives.

I heard it costs like $400k to build that thing.

A CHURCH spending that much on styrofoam. Hum. We are in a recession and plenty of the members are in need I bet.

Tsk,tsk,tsk. When will people learn?

^Lol. I agree. No wonder the statue looked like crap, it was made of foam. I guess we found out it wasn't solid as a rock. Hahaha!

Totally agree. But from what I have read, they will rebuild, as tacky as it is.

The woman who I believe founded the church and is half of the married couple who are ministers--not really sure about this--but anyway, was just on the evening news saying the statue would be back: "He's like the Terminator." Interesting theology they have.
