Could you imagine the outrage? Taxpayer money helps hard-working government (boo hiss) employee.

I just have to say that I don't think most cities that have a Public Relations department would have advised him to go on a "reality show". Outside of Cincinnati this mayor is not viewed particularly positively. Particularly in the historic preservation community for his attemps at keeping the West End a mecca for social programs and his support of citylink and his failure to stand up on key issues.

From a relative "newby" to Cincinnati ,I think most will view this as another "Jerry Springer' moment that shows a lack of professionalism for the office of mayor.

And the baseball experience was still affordable.

I'm not sure I agree with this.

Cincinnati needs some positive pub and to put its name in the ears of people who don't live here. Mark Mallory is continuing the momentum generated by various other things going on right now - a lot of them on national TV.

When downtown Cincinnati gets primetime aerial shots on national TV during Monday Night Football, that's invaluable. The Undercover Boss thing will again put Cincinnati's name out there on a highly popular show that generates warm fuzzy feelings in viewers. I have seen one episode, featuring the CEO of Mack Trucks, and came away with a VERY POSITIVE impression of that company, which I knew absolutely zero about prior to watching.

And last month, when Mark Mallory got a hug from Justin Bieber on Jimmy Kimmel's show, there were about 8 million young girls who wished they were the mayor of Cincinnati and, for whom, Cincinnati might have instantly become a whole lot cooler to.

That's not a bad thing.
