Can anyone recommend a decent doggie daycare and boarding facility in the Cincinnati area? We left behind an amazing place when we moved (staffed 24/7, dogs out to play from 7am-at least 9pm, clean facility, quality staff, etc.). I have toured numerous places in town and have called many others with no satisfactory results. Taking our dog with us when we leave town is not an option, so this is essential for us. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I've also looked into getting a pet sitter who stays at your house. This seems like a great option for the average trip, but it seems like it might be very difficult to get a good person for the holidays. What do people in this area do with their dogs!?

I think if you are talking about vacations, holidys, etc. most people board their dogs at a vet. If you are talking about an every day situation while you work that is a different situation. There are quite a few vets in the area. I don't think you should have a problem finding one who boards a pet for a short stay. Once you move in ask your neighbors for a recommendation.

My brother has a labradoodle they treat like a child. I have requested he pass on the name of where they board the dog when they leave town, which I know they do. When I get it I will pass it on, with the warning my brother has no sense of monetary responsibility when it comes to this dog.

This is the response from my brother.

We go out to Loveland at the Kennel Resort. They are "high tech" with cad cam you can view your pet. They have outside play grounds once they are tested to be able to play with other animals and a copy of all their vaccines are up to date. They have choice of the size of pens. All dogs are provided with a cot to sleep on. They care about their animals. The owner lives right next to the resort. I think they can look at this on line: www.kennelresort.com

As I said, I am sure it is a top notch operation, but beware my brother will spend more on his pets than most people do their kids.

Sorry, it is www.kennelresorts.com

Thank you so much for the advice. I will admit I'm probably like your brother and will spend whatever it takes to get the best care for my dog. I had come across Kennel Resorts in my search but have not ventured there for a visit. I will probably go check it out. Thanks!

My brother boards his dog at Kennel Resorts more often now since my cousin and her family moved to Detroit. My SIL just cannot stand to be separated from her grandbabies. Their labradoodle, Ralph, is a big lug. He seems to thrive well at Kennel Resorts. It is a pretty good drive from where we live in Mason over to State Route 28 where they are located so I am pretty sure my brother would not use them except for the fact he feels their services are first class.
