I forgot about the RTC! I hope they can work something out. That space would be ideal.

Appreciate the information here. Please help: we just booked for trip to Buffalo, saw that we had a 2 hour layover/transfer in Cincinnati, but not that it was "in the middle of nowhere". Is there somewhere nearby we can go to wait in semi comfort? It's going to be late November.

There's a White Castle around the corner, but that's about it...

Assuming (which can be rash) that the Megabus will be on time, when is it due to arrive?

6:40pm with 2hr layover. Perhaps if we consume 1 burger/hr they won't mind us loitering.

Although walking to Over-the-Rhine is not recommended, perhaps you could be taken there by a local cab. For many many years Cincinnati taxis weren't allowed to travel the streets looking for fares (you had to be at the airport, the bus station, or a hotel.) Since old traditions are hard to break you still won't be readily able to flag one down. And it's not like a half-dozen cabbies will descend on the Megabus stop, particularly when it's in that relatively remote location. But you could Google a few of the local companies, then start phoning around when your bus enters the city. The fare to OTR should be negligible - and you could perhaps even arrange to be picked up at the same location an hour or 90 minutes later. Just tell the driver to take you to the Elm St side of Music Hall. If s/he balks given the admittedly short distance, ask for Vine St at 12th or 14th instead.
"OTR" (on the off chance you've missed the numerous threads about it here and articles elsewhere) is Cincinnati's gentrification showcase. Though still "rough around the edges" - particularly to the north - it's the latest place to be seen for the young and/or trendy. While some of the restaurants that have opened are decidedly on the pricy side, with long waits for a table, others can whisk you in and out within the time frame that you have and not break the bank. (This would of course also depend on if you're passing through on a weekend evening or a Monday or Tuesday.) If you've "brown bagged" your meals you can still go to the ice cream Mecca known as Graeter's - they have a small shop at 14th & Vine - for a sundae or cone you won't soon forget. Stranger things have happened and the weather might be somewhat decent. If so, you can idle away some time at Washington Park greeting the dog walkers and watching the lighted fountains. It's a far cry better than shivering on a desolate and sketchy block hoping against hope that the connecting bus won't be late.

I think this is a great idea for someone who wants to do something on a 2 hr layover. I strongly suspect there's a few cabbies who'll be waiting at the bus stop----take a 10 minute cab ride to Rhinegeist Brewery---have a couple good beers and enjoy the magnificence of the brewery. Word to the wise: Rhinegeist doesn't serve food but allows patrons to have food delievered there---order as soon as you get there.

UrbanCincy did a great job covering this story: Can Metro, Megabus Come to Terms on Moving the Intercity Bus Operator Into the Riverfront Transit Center? — UrbanCincy

I'm a regular rider who used to walk across the river to where family lives all the time, the new stop is pretty terrible for people like me who routinely walk or take a bus to somewhere else in the core as opposed to getting picked up.

Gest Street in Queensgate is not the way Cincinnati wants to sell itself to potential tourists particularly because many of these cities this is the only reasonable way to get to Cincy due to CVG being extremely overpriced (it never costs less than $400 roundtrip from Chicago for me by plane!).

If you don't like this stop (and its hardly a good stop) send a polite note to Vice Mayor David Mann on council and request him to go back to the negotiating table with Megabus to workout a better agreement (The RTC would be ideal).

David Mann's contact information: Vice Mayor David Mann - Clerk of Council

Uber and Lyft are available as well, and frankly for Cincy are far more efficient and far cheaper.

I wouldn't leave a car there. I've driven friends to US for an early morning pick up. (No public parking there)
