so i am thinking about visiting King's Island for the first time this season. i am a huge fan of theme parks & have heard great things about KI. i was just curious if it is so busy that you can only ride 4-5 rides in a day like some parks. also, what are the best days or times in the season to go to avoid the largest lines? anyone have any recommendations for a hotel room near the area? thanks in advance!

Even though it probably isn't this way, it seems tome anymore like since peopl from this area don't want to go very far away from here traveling to places, they crowd kings island in the summer and you get really long lines for most rides on a typical day. I am noticing less and less out of state plates this year, although maybe the switch to ownership by cedar parks will help that out.

Great Wolf Lodge is pretty pricey. We stayed at the Hyatt Place which is just one highway exit down I-71 (field's ertel road) and was very nice. Kind of budget-hip. Much cheaper than Great Wolf. We went for the halloween haunt at KI and it was fun. The ride lines were long then though..

KI is opening for weekends as of April 20th, get ready!

Default kings island not crowded

KI is a great place. the crowds have not been there for a couple of years - unless you are in the water park.

If you go to Kings Island during the summer avoid going on Saturdays if you can, that is the most crowded day. I worked in rides there for 8 years and it was the most fun of any job I ever had.

The motels in Lebanon are a lot cheaper, the Shaker Inn on US 42 is really nice.

If you go, go during the week. It's even better to go early in the summer because you will be able to ride everything, multiple times.
