Green Township (Cincinnati, Hamilton, Wyoming: affordable houses, neighborhood, schools)

Hello everyone,

I've seen a lot of affordable houses listed in Green Township but haven't seen much recent talk about the area on the forum. What are people's thoughts regarding crime/safety, schools, commute to UC, and neighborhood feel?

What is this community like? Are there any bad areas in Green to avoid?

There isn't much to say about it, really, it's a whitebread patchwork of subdivisions from the 1950's to the present that continues to sprawl outward. The schools (public and parochial) are decent, you have your pick of strip malls and big-box stores for shopping, and the 74-to-75 commute to UC clocks in at under half an hour.
IMHO the affordability of the housing can be attributed to the times we're living in, and the lack of quality and "character" of dwellings constructed between the '50s and '90s. One major point to bring up also is the fact that many flight paths into CVG pass over that part of Hamilton County now. Whenever planes carrying me to Cincinnati decrease their altitude it's after they've banked to the left near the 74/75 interchange. Soon I'll be able to pick out the house where family friends moved from Wyoming for more space. Now they sleep in the basement to try and minimize the noise, and they're getting nowhere trying to unload the place.
For the same sort of environment -without airplanes' roars - and comparable travel time to UC, go with Anderson.

FAA noise reduction programs beginning in 2004 eliminated noticeable noise in all of Green Township and Western Ham Co. except Delhi and the unincorporated area to the west and south west of Delhi.

I can sit on my in-laws patio in Bridgetown and see the planes to the west and not hear a sound from them. None go in to CVG directly over Bridgetown or the east of Bridgetown, ever.
