Woooo doggy, you got him there!

I mean, in all seriousness, just look at downtown Atlanta:

Oh wait, my bad, that's suburban Philadelphia. But seriously, Philadelphia doesn't have suburban sprawl AT ALL...

People keep mentioning sprawl like it’s the universal buzz-kill of urban efficiency. That Philadelphia neighborhood on the pic is right in line with what I’m accustomed to here; nice newer beautifully landscaped homes. Am I to believe that some of you’d rather live stacked on top of one another than have one of these homes? I hope not...

I have no desire what so ever to live in something like that in the picture.
Actually I would be miserable if I had to live somewhere like that.

Well at least that area of Chester county is not included in the UA and has close to 70% of the land permanantly preserved

density

lol You already live somewhere like that (metro N.O. that is). New Orleans doesn't have the density that you typically see in northeast cities, but I can understand if you don't like those really large homes. Especially if you're single.

I have lived in both and much prefer the city, it is more to me the life outside the door

Most NOLA suburbs have around at least 5,000 people per square mile on average It goes to the 10,000's if you do it by zip code. There is nothing around here that looks like that picture.

New Orleans doesn't look like that.....

You don't start seeing sprawl that bad in places like TX and LA until your in the exurbs.
