Five Points and the area around Highland Ave., Mountain Brook, Homewood and other areas of the south side.
The Highland Grill in Five Points is one of my favorites.
oh ok, I didnt get to see too much of the south side of Birminham, other than the Hoover/Helena area, which is beautiful, I mostly saw the downtown/UAB area and the eastern side.
Having lived in Jackson and spent lots of time in Birmingham in the past, Birmingham over Jackson any day. It's a much larger metro area, lots of amenities for its size, and Atlanta is a short trip away if you feel like making a daytrip.
I have a love-hate relationship with "Jacktown" for a number of reasons, and I can't say that I exactly miss the place, but I'm glad to spend time with my family when I'm there.
thx for all the feedback. yea it seems like birmingham would be a better choice over jackson.
