sports are huge in FL, high schoools encourage everyone to take up a sport. I've seen some HUGE high school foot ball games here, you would think its a college football game with the amount of people there and how alive they are.

Are we talking about where these people were born, where they live, or what? It's been two pages and I still don't understand this thread nor have you provided any sources to all this extensive research you say you've done..

Do you have any basis for your answer? What sports are these pro athletes playing?
Please do not hate on NY.

Some of the athletes are:

Michael Jordan
Mike Tyson

Sadam Ali(Boxing)
Emily Cross(Fencing)
Erinn Smart(Fencing)
Keeth Smart(Fencing)

Born.

And in terms of college athletics, these states do have most.

YouTube - Go Tigers! Trailer

In Ohio, Florida and Texas the video above is how MOST towns / cities are when it comes to sports in High School.

Even in terms of colleges, look what states produce the most? Rivals.com - Where do the pro athletes come from?
Pipeline to the NFL? Big states, schools are key - USATODAY.com

And then of course famous athletes.. List of people from Ohio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. There are some for Ohio.

From 2007, best High School wrestlers.. Ohio and Pennsylvania (both on list provided) are 1 and 2

Lame thread...

Ok, let's pick the most populated states and say that they have the most athletes... It's like asking "which state has more people that play the violin, Wyoming and their 500,000 residents or California and their 30+ Million?"

Florida, Texas and Ohio are some of the most unhealthy states in the Union....

Ever heard of

Lindsay Vonn
Joe Mauer
Larry Fitzgerald Jr.
Zach Parise
Marion Barber III
Dustin Byfuglin
Seantrel Henderson

All superstars, all from the same metro.

People are only thinking about major sports like Football and Basketball but do TX and FL succeed in other sports beyond Football and Basketball or baseball?

Califorina on the other hand has a good balance of all sports. Just some college facts for you all before you harp on California
