You really aren't proving anything with Florida, which is one of the healthiest states in the country. Look at this map:

Florida is toe-to-toe with California..
Not being obese does not at all equal healthy. Around my circle we call it skinny-fat, 140 lb-150 lb people without an ounce of muscle on their bodies.

I agree, like I said earlier to someone else, just because you are skinny doesn't mean you are athletic. With that said, being obese is definitely not healthier than being skinny with no muscles though lol.

On the other hand most Pro Surfers come from California

Louisiana has produced the most football players per capita
California has produced the most football players in general

So again this thread is poorly crafted in my opinion.
I completely agree. Most posters on this thread seem to think that athleticism equals NFL, NBA or MLB. There's a whole slew of other categories that haven't even been mentioned like swimming, cycling, triathlons, gymnastics, soccer, etc. Far too generalized...

This really is too general though, Kid Cann you put up good points, but it really isn't worth arguing when we don't know what the specific topic is.

I just know athletics are a huge part of the every day life in FL. The majority of the kids I grew up with including me played sports growing up. There are parks everywhere with tennis courts, basketball courts, volley ball courts, baseball fields, biking/jogging trails, etc. all with free access to the public. I heard in NJ you had to pay to use pubic athletic facilities like tennis courts. Also High school sports are pretty big over here. The high school football games are huge and the community really gets into them.

Someone told me that they don't have public tennis courts in NJ where anyone can just walk in to it and start using it for free.

They say lots of things, that's why research reports use published sources that have been verified for their veracity.

Thats a douche like move. Obviously the OP included states in which most Athletes names come from. This does not mean the thread is lame because your state is not included. iT SIMPLY MEANS, OUT OF THE STATES LISTED, WHICH HAS THE MOST ATHLETIC PEOPLE.

What state do you always here someone being from or going to some tournament or champion ship? Florida, Texas, Cali, and Ohio. Easy. Other would probaably be states like: Alabama, Michigan, Washington (State) and Tennessee. but more than the first 4 states listed? get real. Why do you think in all sports you see a team from one of these states in some kind of champion ship every year? Come on really? Hockey? How much of the southern half of the country really can play hockey? How much of all the country can play basketball or football? Oh okay.
