Lynchburg, TN

The only reason it's even on the map is because the Jack Daniels distillery is there.

Yea, but Arkansas City,KS is pronounced with the "kan" part emphasized. So is the Arkansas River I think, but not sure. I just know I was QUICKLY corrected when I visited Arkansas City as to how to say it.

So maybe it's Arkansas that has it wrong? haha

Few cities bother me, but Philly and Cincy are so damn hard to spell out. I hope they don't mind being called Philly and Cincy.

Idaho probably has "da" worst name.
Rhode Island is pretty bad too.

New Jersey is probably the worst imo. It always reminds me of a nick name for a big fat cow.
Utah is pretty bad too, it is like someone meant to say "U saw" and had a speech impediment and said "U tah".

Really? Interesting. I've never heard it pronounced any way but the way you would pronounce the name of the state. I actually looked it up on Wikipedia, and it says that people in Kansas and Colorado pronounce it ar-Kansas but the other states which it passes through as well as the rest of the southern US pronounce it AR kan saw, like the state. I guess I've never heard it pronounce it the other way since I live in one of those states through which it passes. Also, according to the Wikipedia article, the state of Arkansas actually passed a law many years ago, concerning the pronunciation.
