Actually, they haven't been for 5 years now.

Even though, It's simple and the font on both License plates give a nice finish. They're simple, but look good compared to many of the extremely busy plates you see now.

One state plate that has NEVER EVER been changed NEVER EVER NEVER since the BEGINNING OF TIME: North Carolina. Can I get a witness? I don't even think NC has vanity plates. They are all 100 percent the same -- featuring the Wright Brother's "First in Flight" logo.

I have never seen a variation on the NC plate in my life and I'm not young.

there have been variations, very slight ones. but for the last 30 years the plate has looked almost exactly the same

That's what I'm sayin. I never had understood the fascination with people oogling & aweing over California license plates.

They still even put their inspection & registration stickers on their plates? Yuck!

Texas did away with that a long time ago. Now they go in the lower drivers side front windshield.

Hasn't California had like the same design for like a gazillion years?

In a state as broke as California, its probably just cheaper to stick with such a simple design.

Missouri's gramatically incorrect license plate isn't too bad. It definitely looks better than its predecessor.

The grammar error...it says "Show Me State" rather than "Show-Me State". The lack of a hyphen makes it sound like some caveman asking for a tour. Not a big issue, but the state was aware of it and printed the design anyway.
