Vancouver. A truly beautiful city in a beautiful setting, and as cosmopolitan a city as exists in North America. Another plus is the friendliness of the people, which is definitely a plus when you compare it to the social climbing and mean-spiritedness that dogs DC.
Folks - please refresh over the room sticky at the top of the page. This one is just barely squeaking by. If you're going to come up with a comparison for cities, please be DETAILED as to what you'd like to compare. Thank you.
Vancouver is a fun city to visit. Very scenic. But Washington, DC is in a different league of importance globally and historically. It is also larger and more cosmopolitan.
I would definately live in Vancouver over D.C. One of the world's most beautiful cities imo. Compact, walkable, great nightlife, less crime, easy access to one of the world's top ski resorts and simply breathtaking natural beauty.
Wow I would think DC is a place to work and go on field trips to . Vancouver is a city to travel and go on vacation to much more dense and urban than DC I chose Vancouver.

Hmm.. I'm not aware that Vancouver is more dense and urban than Washington, DC. Can you back that up with data?
Sure Vancouver has 13718 people living per a square mile and DC has 9700 people per a square mile. Vancover is much more urban they decided to base there city on mass transit in the 80s they invested in mass transit instead of freeways. Its one of the densist cities in north America They were denser than New York in the Nineties but think they got by passed . But there in a diff league than DC.
I believe DT Vancouver is 2nd only to Lower Manhattan in North America for density, could be completely wrong though. As for urban? that's arguable. My choice would be Vancouver though, the setting is 2nd to none.
