Orlando Weekly said it best:

" We're inundated with mega shopping outlets, roller coasters, putt-putt golf, gargantuan movie theaters, dance clubs and more chain restaurants than you can shake a stick at. And at 15, such attractions can be great fun. At 25, the same attractions feel overpriced, overstimulating and overrated.
And nothing is exclusive here. In Miami, only the hottest people are allowed to join the party. Here, you don't even need to get dressed up – all you need is a driver's license and five bucks to pass through the "velvet ropes." Where's the challenge in that?"

The article was intended to be a dose of self-deprecation, even the author admitted that we were spoiled by over-stimulation and thus one of the reasons we are "Borelando". Imagine the kind of article he could have wrote about other cities with not even half of what Orlando has. Relax, every city has these kind of folks who write similar articles, it's a love hate relationship.

It's funny how you didn't include the two sentences that proceeded that quote:

"Mama wasn't lying when she told you too much of a good thing is bad. One problem with this city is that there's simply too much to do."

But besides, that article reflects more on the sad life of one person rather than of the entire city.

Thanks, I couldn't agree more ... Orlando is a decent city, but it simply doesn't offer the many positive attributes of older cities such as Cleveland or Cincinnati, and it never will ... because these cities were endowed with iconic museums, architecture and so much more during this nations "guilded age"

Orlando didn't really begin to "blossom" until Walt Disney decided to build "Disney World" nearby ... sometime in the 60s or early 1970s

You never replied. Is that your definition of cookie cutter bland and boring?? I like to call it the secret Orlando . Feel free to pan around to get the 360 degree view.
Some of the areas you have shared in this posting look absolutely "inviting" ... some are very beautiful, too.
I never stated that Orlando doesn't have "some" nice areas ... it's just that most of the city is either "stucco" or spanish oriented in it's architecture ... BORING!!!
Cleveland and Cincinnati both offer spacious and leafy suburbs with every conceivable type of architecture ... to fit every budget.
It just comes with being mature, older and long established cities.

Its actually about 3 blocks on both sides of the street. Who cares what the buildings look like, what matters is what's inside them, Vietnam culture. Besides they aren't a strip mall because they are against the street, not behind a parking lot. If you want to see ugly buildings I will show you plenty of ugly buildings in Cincinnati.
