With the poll choices, I'm going to need to break out the industrial popcorn machine for this thread.

"next" in terms of what?
transit? skyline? population? crime/homicides? wealth? debt? etc...

Perhaps those who already voted have a better understanding than I do. But "the next Chicago" in what regard?

There's no context.

I'd say a mix of transit, skyline, global and american importance, GDP / wealth etc.

I don't think any city is the next of something?
What does that even mean?
Was New York the next Philadelphia or Boston?
Was Chicago to be the next NY? Or LA to be the next NY or Chicago?

What does all this mean?

Chicago 2025 is set to be the next Chicago 2015. And after 2025 comes 2026, 2027, 2028...

Seems like a joke thread without the qualifiers you listed...Chicago's position in the hierarchy of cities is not so cemented that you can say the next Chicago and expect people to know WTH you are talking about

Well I don't see Los Angeles declining enough to be considered the "new" Chicago...
